Straddie Camping Trip

We had a week away camping from Boxing day til just after New Year.
This time around it was North Stradbroke Island, just off the mainland from Brissy.
Such a beautiful spot. I hadn't been to Straddie since before Jase and I were married and it wasn't a very memorable trip. We camped over the Easter break and it rained the whole time. The sun came out the day we got on the barge to come home. Should have been an omen huh?

Well, the crazy wild wet weather wasn't go to stop us.
All good in theory, but it play a little bit of havoc, especially getting clothes and towels dry.
Apart from that, it was ok!

Apart from a few wet days at the beginning of the week, the end of the week fined up beautifully. So much so, all of us came back sunburnt and are currently peeling in some way, shape or form! LOL

This time around, there were 5 families and everyone had a great time, yet again.
How can you not with great friends, family and good times?

Here's a few pics from our trip.

There was some 4WDriving in the mud...

There was some retrieval excercises, that my BIL Scott just loves!

There was some fishing...

Lots of boogie boarding!

The kids built a big sand swimming pool, til the tide came in and washed it away!

Deadman's Beach near Point Lookout.
Straddie has some beautiful beaches.

Lots of fun at our Mexican Night for New Years Eve.
Ella and Grace loved the stick-on moustaches!!

All packed and ready to head home on the barge.

A fun week away for all of us.
Back to reality now and settle into a big year ahead for 2011!

Chat soon,
