Easter at Murphys Creek Escape

We headed to Murphys Creek Escape for our Easter Camping Trip.
It's situated at the bottom of the range about 15 mins from Toowoomba.
Only a bit over an hr from home...nice and close this time around.

It's a fabulous spot out in the bush, with a running creek and waterhole.
Plenty of lovely camping spots, which was at capacity. The owners, Pete and Lisa have only owned the property since Oct 09 and it officially opened on Boxing Day 09. So, this was their first Easter and they were pleasantly surprised with the attendance and rushed off their feet all weekend, but in a good way!

We all had a ball, with 7 happy camping families and too many kids to count!
Aged between 2 and 18, there was a real mix!
The kids swam in the waterhole, tried to catch yabbies(yes, tried...LOL), participated in family games and the bird feeding, went to the big bonfire on Sat night, did Craft activities, plenty of walks, a huge Easter egg hunt on Sunday morning, a trip to Spring Bluff and of course participated in Skirmish.
The property has it's very own Laser Skirmish battlefield. Nick who runs it comes in and runs the 5 games each afternoon/morning. Some adults in our group and a good number of the kids played Skirmish on Sat, while I took a trip with my girlfriend Lee and our two youngest kids (Ella and Hollee) to Toowoomba for supplies.
My SIL Kate wanted to go and play Skirmish again on Sunday so I decided to play, but not before convincing Lee-Ann it was a good idea and a great workout!!
So, off we went. Had a ball too, playing Commando in the bush!
It was not without it's bruises either. Being Laser it's not like you are hit with paintballs, but you spend a lot of time down on the ground crawling along on your belly!! Well, I seemed too.
Looking forward to doing that again.

All in all, another fabulous camping trip away.
Lots of laughs, fun filled days, good times, good friends and of course plenty of chocolate!!

Here's some snaps from the weekend!
The kids in the waterhole.

Ella and her little friend Hollee.

The Rainbow lorikeets are everywhere.

Family games...Egg and Spoon Races and Three legged Races this afternoon.

A chocolate breakfast for my niece and nephews...Griffin, Seth and Amelia.

The girls playing Laser Skirmish...L-R: Kate, Lee-Ann, me and Brittney.
We got right into the Commando thing!!!!

A great camping trip away.
Already looking forward to the next one.

Chat soon,

Omg Chelle, it looks like you had so much fun. Wish I had a big family that I could go camping with. Good to see that someone still has family values.
