Scrap the Boys - December 2013 Challenge

It's Challenge time!!

This is my last Scrap the Boys Design Team layout.
I'm stepping down at the end of this year. Mainly to have a break.
I've been on this team for about 2 years, so it's time to give someone else a turn.

I have loved scrapping with these fabulously talented girls on this team.
A big thank you to Mel Heather for giving me a go and to Wendy Smith for taking it
over this year and doing a wonderful job running it. Again, Thank you!

So, this month's challenge is to create a layout about the boys in our lives
and celebrate Christmas!
The theme is:
All I want for Christmas

I actually used this as the title of my layout and scrapped about what our
10yr old, Zac would like... A playstation 4 apparently!

There's plenty of prizes up for grabs again this month, so get your entries in
by midnight December 31st to be in the running!

Happy Creating!

Scrap the Boys - November 2013 Challenge

The new Challenge for November is up at Scrap the Boys!

This month, you have to create a layout about...

MANS BEST FRIEND

This challenge can be literal (so you man/boy BEST FRIEND) or you can think
outside the box and go with something they love like their car or remote.
You can also use the traditional Man’s Best Friend of a DOG…
the options are wide and varied.

I decided to scrap about my husband Jason's love for his dirt bike.
Sometimes I think he loves it more than me?
Seemed perfect for this challenge.

I used lots of texture paste with my hexagon template, white paint,
a green inkpad, stamped some images over my background and then started layering.
Seems I am leaning to more a messy look these days.

Scrap the Boys - October 2013 Challenge

It's October already?
Can you believe it? 2013 is whizzing by.
Might have to actually start thinking about Christmas soon! Eeek!

There's a new challenge at Scrap the Boys!
Create a layout using...

Blue and Green
 I've used a photo from Zac's 10th Birthday.
The blue and green candles were my inspiration.

I didn't have a lot of patterned papers in green and blues that suited my photo.
So, I created a washi tape border around my photo. Quite like the look of it.
I even tore some of the washi to create a different look.

Love this coolour combo, but actually don't scrap it often.
Having a boy, you'd think I would?
It was a good challenge for me!

Be sure to upload your layout to the Linky tool by midnight on
October 31st...Halloween!

Happy Creating!

Glow Run

In late August, we participated in the Glow Run. First time it's been held here.
It began at the Botanical Gardens and did a loop around Southbank and back to the gardens.
It's a nice little 5km loop. The Glow Run isn't like a regular run.
It's non-competitive, not timed but lots of fun.
There are Glow Zones set up about 1km apart and they have DJ's that you can dance at.
Very cool and very fun!

Here's some photos from the night...

Very much the party atmosphere.
The kids LOVED it!

I think we'll be back!!

Layout: Being Silly

I pulled out the paper and glue last night.
Kept me occupied while I was watching the footy!

I had a look at the Challenge blogs and loved the latest challenge,
over at Show us your stuff. Red and White...It was calling my name!
My favourite colour!!

It also requires to use a handmade item. I made these cute washi tape feathers
a while ago so decided to use them. I LOVE how this layout all came together.
Very minimal, with some of my favourite things...washi tape, paint, ink and texture paste!!

Here's my layout, using some photo booth pics I took on my Iphone about
12mths ago now! They make me laugh!!

Shows a close up of my washi tape feathers.

Had fun playing along with this challenge!

Scrap the Boys - September 2013 Challenge

This month at Scrap the Boys, it's all about your outdoor pics!
If you're like me, you'll have a ton of them.

I actually took this photo of my son Zac and his good mate Cooper,
when they had the Brisbane Ekka Show holiday off from school just recently.
They begged me to take them down to the Basketball Court to shoot some hoops!!
They both play in the same School Basketball team - 5B's!
Love this pic of them both in action!

I used some very old Kaisercraft patterned paper.
It matched the boys t-shirts, so I ran with it!
Then I went a bit crazy with paint, tape and doodling!!

I put my title on my photo. Something I don't do very often but I love the look!
I use Picmonkey to edit my photos. Love it! So simple and easy to use.
They are always coming out with new edits in the program,  and now
adding extras to your pics!

Make sure your entry is uploaded to the sidebar by midnight Sept 30th,
to be in the running for the prizes!

Have you liked the Scrap the Boys Facebook page?
Always lots going on there, and it'll keep you up to date!

Happy creating!!

Layout: Love you beautiful girl

We've had a lazy day today at the Jamieson house!
No school sport due to the Ekka break meant that I even got to sleep in!
The boys decided to head down to the Footy Club this afternoon,
so I jumped at the chance to do some scrapping!

I looked at the Scrap the Girls Challenge blog and really liked the recipe challenge for August!

We had to use:
masking
doodling
flowers
chipboard or wood veneers

So, I decided to make my own mask. I cut the circles out of a scrap piece of 12x12 and used that! Just love how this page turned out!

Especially adore this photo of my gorgeous girl!

Thanks for popping by!
Enjoy your weekend.

Just turned 10...

Zac had a Birthday about a month ago.
My eldest is now 10...double figures!

How did that happen?
I can recall very clearly the day he arrived into this world!
Seems like yesterday. How time flies...

Here he is blowing out his candles while away on holidays
in Hervey Bay recently!

Happy Birthday mate!
