Woohoo...Adam's through to the Grand Final!

I'm a little excited.
I've just watched Dancing with the Stars and Adam Brand is through to the Grand Final. Can you believe it?? I can't?

Put it this way, when it comes to dancing Adam's a much better singer...LOL
But, he's made it through to the final night. Very proud of him, indeed!

So, please vote for him this week...He's in with a chance!
Call 1900 55 77 11 or text "Adam" to 19 17 77.

Please vote...I'm begging you!!

In other news, I made it through to Round 5 of Embellished Idol.
This week we had to scrap "5 Places to visit before we die" or "5 Things to do before we die". This was a good one, although hard to narrow it down to just 5.

You'd think it was Summer...

Honestly, you would?
The weather we are having here in Qld is crazy. I got sunburnt today in Winter?
Can you believe that?? It's been about 30 degrees each day...very unseasonal for this time of year!

Seeing it's been so nice, we had a trip into Southbank to the Water area with my SIL Tracey and my niece Mel..yep, so the kids could have a swim. They had a ball. Luckily I've just bought Ella new togs! So, she tried them out today!

From there, we went and had some lunch and a wander around the markets. Some lovely stuff at the markets...very creative people around!
Then, of course a delish Cold Rock icecream befor heading for home.
It was a nice day out!

It must have been fun, as Zac fell asleep on the lounge just after 7pm and Ella wasn't far behind him. It must have worn them out! LOL
Don't you love all the pillows he has under him??

Hope you're having a good weekend!

Friday Foto

I'm getting in early this week for my Friday Foto!
Zac has the School Disco tonight so I'll be running in and out!

My friend Mel took some pics of Zac and Ella, with a few of DH and I...for her portfolio last weekend. I'm so lucky to have photographer friends!! I get some fabulous pics from time to time. All the more to scrap...(haha)

So, this morning(after school dropoff)...I stopped in at our little location, where we had our pics taken. It has the most awesome wall, full of grafitti! It makes for a great backdrop.

I've had a little play with it, and I'm likin the result!!
Here's me today...

My latest DT layouts for Anna's Craft Cupboard are up. My Step-by-Step this month was a little different for me, but I totally love that layout! Using paper strips, that I've seen others using in the last few mag issues!! So, thought I'd give it a try. It's very effective.
Oh and it's a recent pic of my good friend, Gypsy!
She doesn't know I've used these pics, but I'm sure she'll love it! ;)

Using new Crate Paper - Lillian Collection.

Some pics of Zac at Little Athletics earlier this year.
Using new Making Memories - Just Chillin' Collection.

Lastly, one of my favourite pics from Tangalooma...
Simpler for me, but I like it! This one is all about the pic!

Using My Minds Eye - Sunkissed

Have a happy Friday!

Two BIG Birthdays

A few weekends ago I had a BIG Birthday weekend.
My Dad turned 60 and the very next day,my BIL Barrie turned 40!
We went to Barrie's party...a cowboy theme, no doubt. Could he have any other sort of party? Knowing Barrie, ummm...NO!!
It was a very fun night.

Can you believe this is the only pic I have of Barrie in it??
What a bad photographer I am...or shall I say Tracey?
Tracey's(my SIL) camera went flat and she pinched my camera!

Barrie is in the black on the left.

Then, on Sunday we celebrated Dad's Birthday at a lovely rstaurant, then headed back to my sister, Kellie's place for Birthday cake.
It was so yummy.

I can't believe he's 60?
Where has time gone....Love ya Dad!

and Pa with the grandkids...

There's nothing like Birthday celebrations!

Friday Foto

It's the end of another week...bring on the weekend, I say!!
I have a busy day tomorrow shovelling dirt. Yep, you read right...our garden beds are in serious need of a top up and a trim back!
I might even make a dash out to the markets to get some new plants!!
The best, or worst part...depends how you look at it...it's going to be 30 degrees tomorrow. OH well..might get a tan on the lily white legs, if anything?
Wearing jeans for the last few months will do that!

Anyway...onto today's Friday Foto.
A little different, but I like it!

I've also done my Embellished Idol layout for this week. I've made it through to Round Four...Yay!!! Let's see how we go this week?
We had a list of requirements to have on our layout. (Stitching, Painting, Layering, Distressing, Chipboard and a punched shape or border of some kind)

Here's mine...

The title "Our Squeezy Cuddler" is all about Ella and her squeezy cuddles she gives. Yep, her cuddles have a name. We have one every night at bedtime and if you're lucky a few through the day, too. Too cute!!

I've finally got the pics of the camera from last weekend's Birthday celebrations, so I'll share those tomorrow.

I hope you have a good weekend.

Embellished Idol - Week 3

I'm a day early...Hip Hip Hooray!!
Entries close at 5pm tomorrow, but I have so much on in the next 24 hrs, today was the day!
This week's challenge was to create a monochromatic layout. That's pick one colour, but you can use as many shades as you like, with a little black and white thrown in for good measure.
I've used a pic of my gorgeous 12yr old niece, Melanie.
She had the most vivid pink top on, so I've used pink as my colour.
I also had a play with some cupcake liners, and used them as my feature embellishment. They turned out really well!!

Here's the layout...

I'd better go and get ready for the party.

Friday Foto

The weather's been beautiful here in Brisbane this week.
We even had a storm on Wednesday night, very unusual.
Yesterday it reached 27 degrees and well above the average temp for August.
It'll be summer before we know it.

I had a visit to Print Blocks today, to see some of the new CHA ranges which will be available very soon.
I met my friend Gypsy and checked out what was on offer. Was lovely catching up and having a cuppa.Even better when scrap supplies are involved!! LOL

So, I had to get a pic with the two of us at Print Blocks. So, this is my Friday Foto!

We have a big weekend ahead with Big Birthday celebrations.
Looking forward to them.

Have a good one!

Off to the Ekka

We had no intention of going to the Ekka today. We actually spent the morning cleaning under our house...looks fabulous by the way!!
We came up and had some lunch and there was a news break and they showed the Ekka and it looked like there wasn't many there and they said numbers were down on Peoples Day. For non-Brissy people, today was our show holiday or "Ekka" holiday.

So Jase said...Let's go to the Ekka...a quick change and off we went! We don't live far from the showgrounds, a stones throw or 5 min drive away!!
Zac has only been once, when he was 3 and Ella has never been. The last time I went I was 8 mths pregnant with Ella, so that was 4 years ago.
You should have seen their faces when we walked in. They were blown away, and couldn't wait to have a go on the rides. So, from clowns, to the kids rides, into the animal pavilions, deciding on showbags...wow, what a day!!

We had some dinner and it started to spit rain. They had forecast a thunderstorm for this afternoon and without a doubt, it poured down. Luckily we were in the Showbag pavilion so didn't get wet but it was so loud on the tin roof.

Onto the main arena and we saw the Jet truck, Stunt driving Hilux utes, the crazy freestyle motorX bikes, tent pegging(It's an event with horses, not actually putting up tents...LOL) and some wood chopping. Then, the big finale with the fireworks and the laser show. The kids loved every minute of it. Jase and I loved watching the excitement on their faces, all day long. That's what makes it!!
It was a ton of fun and we can't wait to go again next year!

Here's some snaps...

You can't go to the Ekka and not have one of these strawberry icecreams. They are totally divine!! Check out Ella's face...she liked hers, it's all over her!!

The clowns, an old favourite.

Ella loved the rides.

Zac on the motorbikes.

The both loved the pink Hogs Breath drift car. We saw it later in the night in the main arena...very cool!!

Here's the kids and Dad.

That's our fun day at the Ekka...

Embellished Idol - Round 2

I did my layout very late this week for Idol and uploaded just in the nick of time. I think I had 6 mins to spare!!
Slack of me, I know?
That's what a super busy weekend will do to you!!

This week we had to create a circle layout, and as a lot of you know...I don't do circles! Haha... So this was a good challenge for me.
As an extra we had to have a theme of a "season", "Through these eyes" or "Friends". I still had some delightful autumn pics from my trip to Daylesford last year. Yep, I still have more to scrap.
I just love this dreamy photo!!

and a close up...

Those very yummy tissue paper flowers will be available for purchase at Chelley Bean Designs very soon.

The perfect revenge?

I saw this on the news last week and thought I'd share with you.

A guy in a band in Canada, flew United airlines and they broke his guitar while putting it on the plane. He complained to the airline but to no avail. After several months of phone calls to and from, nothing happened. They wouldn't replace the guitar.
So, he wrote a song called "United breaks guitars" and posted it on Youtube. It has received well over 4 million hits. It was a huge success, beyond his wildest dreams.
In a bizarre twist, this song wiped over $180 million or 10% of United's Shares market value. Can you believe that??

Maybe they should have just replaced his $1200 guitar???

I love it...it is the perfect revenge!!
You can read about it here.

Here's the Youtube song...

**NEW** August Kit

My new August kit at Scrap and Craft with T, is now available in the shop.
It's a double layout that would suit outdoors photos. I used pics from our Easter camping trip. The great thing about a double is you can use plenty of pics...I get mine printed at Harvey Norman, so this size is the 2up sheet, giving you 2 pics on a 6x4. I love that size!

The kit is great value at $15!!

Friday Foto

I know, I know...I'm a day late!!
I was too exhausted last night and I've had a tummy bug, so I had an early night.

Here's my pic from yesterday. The kids and I were playing with the camera out on the grass in the front yard late in the afternoon.
So, here's me and my two little monkeys!

This weekend is Market Day at Scrapchat's Craft Exchange.
By sure to pop by and grab a bargain or two. Lots of handmade goodies to be purchased and some de-stashing going on this time around...well, by me anyway!!

I have a busy catch-up weekend this weekend. I have a ton of washing, need to mow the yard, wash the car and I'm painting some shelves for my scrap space. Plenty to keep me busy, I think???

Have a great weekend!
