I have some new pics...

I have to give a BIG Thanks to Mel from Point Shoot Play for the gorgeous pics she took of Zac and Ella a while back. They arrived last week, so I thought I'd share a couple of my favourites.

Lots of great pics to scrap.
Thanks again, Mel!

My latest Doodling Tutorial is up on Tan's blog - Scrap'n'Craft with T.
It's all about the checkered border, and how to create it!

Be sure to check out Chelley Bean Designs blog, too.
The September Giveaway ends at midnight Wednesday, so make sure you post a comment and add a blinkie!

I have a quiet house tonight. The kids are having a sleepover at Nana and Pa's and Jase is away in Sydney, so I'm off to hit the scrap desk!

A fun weekend with the girls...

I headed to my SIL, Tracey's place on Saturday morning.
We went and checked out the Handmade Expo, which was great, I might add.
I bought a gorgeous glass pendant and some delish relishes. Jase was happy about that!
A visit to Tracey's MIL, who is also a Michelle...She's a sweetie and I haven't seen her in a while so it was nice to catch up. She turned 60 recently. She's a VERY young 60!
Then home to watch the AFL Grand Final. Growing up in country Vic I had to go for Geelong...so, "Go Cats" was heard from Tracey''s lounge room most of the afternoon. Some very stressful moments but they made it through...thankfully.
Even a quick call to my cousin in Vic and her "Cats Crazy" hubby. He was very pleased with the win!! So, it was a good result!

Then, time to get ready for my SIL-to-be's Hens Night. Kate is marrying Jase's older brother, Scotty.
Kate had a ball. Catching up with the girls and having a good time. Gotta love girlfriends. We had so much fun, lots of laughs and quite a few drinks were consumed!
Can't wait to see you all again next weekend for the wedding!!

Here's some snaps from last night...

Kare, Trace and me

Kare, Trace, me and Lee

Kimmy, Trace, Lee, Kare and me

Needless to say I woke with sore calves from dancing the night away and feeling tired, but all totally worth it!

The funny part about these pics is I remembered the camera in my bag after Kate had gone home...good SIL I am hey??
Promise I'll take plenty next weekend at the wedding!

Friday Foto

It's been a week since I lasted posted. That's not like me. I usually have plenty to chat about?? LOL

We are enjoying the school holidays. We have successfully cleaned out the kids bedrooms, had some visitors and survived the dust storm this week. It was such a weird day, with sun somewhere up above us, we just couldn't see it? It was so thick you could taste the dirt. My chest felt heavy and my eyes was gritty. I have enough trouble with allergies and my eyes, to suffer grit in them! Yuk!
Needless to say there's red dirt everywhere and they have eased water restrictions so we can clean houses, driveways and cars for the next week or so. But, there's supposed to be another one tomorrow, so we think we'll hold off. That and I have a busy weekend!

I'm off to check out a Handmade Expo tomorrow, watch the Cts beat the Saints...well, hopefully...and head out to a Hens night tomorrow night!
Should be heaps of fun...I can't wait!

Here's today's pic...

I'll leave you with a cute Youtube video I saw on the news last night.
Made our family giggle. Beyonce sure has an effect on people!

And here's another clip of the same song...with Justin Timberlake and some guys from Saturday Night Live in America. It's been out a while, and you've probably seen it, but it still cracks me up. You see the skit making the clip here.

Enjoy and have a good weekend!

Friday Foto

The end of the week...Woohoo!
School Holidays started today. I love the holidays.
We have a few things planned, but nothing too big.
Looking forward to sleeping in, relaxing and cleaning out the kids bedrooms.
Not sure I'm too excited about the last one, but it's got to be done.
I'm afraid the Cleaning Fairy doesn't grace us with her presence too often, so it's up to me!!

I've been on a quest today. I'm off to a family wedding in 2 weeks, so my SIL, Tracey and I hit the shops in search of outfits! I'm happy to say we both found outfits, and I even got shoes and accesories to match! Gotta love a shopping trip that's productive! LOL

I'll keep what I'm wearing a secret...but I love it!!!

So, seeing Trace was here today...She's in my Friday Foto with me!

Have a great weekend!

Doodling Tutorial

I'm doing a little series of Doodling Tutorials over at Scrap n Craft with T.
They can be found on the blog here.
You'll see them on a fortnightly basis, on a Tuesday.

My first Tutorial went up this Tuesday.
Just a simple one to start with.

I created this cute playing card, using a SHE quote.
"She was an artist and her life was a canvas"

I love that quote. It says so much about us creative people, in particular Scrapbookers, who try to record our life on a page.

Here's my playing card...

He's off to the Fairytale Ball...

It's been another busy week, with lots of things happening.
Zac has been learning about fairytales this term. So, last Thursday was the Grade One Fairytale Ball. Such a big event in any 6 year old's life.
Zac decided to go as Ali Baba from the Forty Thieves.

There were so many different characters, from wolves, billy goats, Princesses, Princes, woodcutters and about 8 Little Red Riding Hood's...just from one calss alone!
They all looked great and were introduced to the audience(ie. the parents) and they chatted about their costumes. Like at any ball, they had a bit of a dance, (parents included) followed by a very BIG morning tea!
It was a very nice morning out!

Here's Zac.
This was taken at school, after all the festivities.

A very BIG THANKYOU to Grandma for the vest and pants that she made.
It is very much appreciated.

Ella's been telling everyone that Zac is dressing up as "Lady Gaga". Totally cracks me up every time she tells someone. Lady Gaga and Ali Baba are two VERY different people. I think she's worked out the difference now?? LOL

We had a visitor in our car this week.
A big green treefrog, that gave me a hell of a fright when putting school bags in the back of the car. We have a Nissan Pathfinder and it jumped onto the back window making me jump!
It's not every day that a treefrog hurtles itself towards you! LOL

In other news, I made it into Round 7 of Embellished Idol.
This week we had to make some "wearable art". I loved this challenge.
Being a Hairdresser, I love wearing big hair and putting things in it!
So, this was right up my alley!

Here's what I created!

We'll see how we go this week??

Late one tonight!

Here's me and my lovely SIL, Manda.
She popped in on the way home from work and had a drink.
Love ya Manda!!

I'm still in shock...

Yep, I'm still in shock that Adam Brand actually won Dancing with the Stars!
As much as I love him, he's a much better singer than dancer!!

I really think Matt White deserved to win in the end. Not so fussed on Kylie Gillies. Don't get me wrong, her dancing was fabulous but I liked Matt better. He dances beautifully, while Adam...well, he did ok!

Anyway, enough of that...he won and I'm stoked!!
Goes to show it's a personality contest not a dancing one.

To tie in with Adam's win, his record company, Compass Records are giving 3000 free mp3 dowloads for Ready for Love...the song he and Jade danced to on Grand Final night.
You can get it here.

He's also just released the new filmclip to "Ready for Love".
Jade's in it too(his dance partner)...Maybe the rumours are true??
Loving this new clip!!

In even bigger news...Adam's signed a deal with Sony Music in the US. So, the show I'm going to in about 6 weeks time might be the last time I see him for a while!
So very happy for him. The Yanks are gonna love him!

Happy 4th Birthday Ella

Ella celebrated her 4th Birthday yesterday.
We had a fun weekend away on the beautiful Gold Coast and a trip to Seaworld on Saturday!

Seaworld was great. The kids loved every minute of it.
It's great for young kids, with all the animals. We did the rides too... The Vikings Revenge and the Bermuda Triangle, as well as the little kids rides at Sesame Street Beach.
Here's the kids on the Big Bird Bounce!

Then onto the shows...the Dolphin show and the Seal show.
We loved the shows. The dolphins and seals have such trust in their trainers. It's great to watch.

The polar bears are just beautiful, so cute and cuddly, but man are they big?
This guy tore apart a fish while we were watching him.

Here's a cute pic of the kids outside Shark Bay!
The underwater viewing area is awesome. So much to see.

Then on Sunday we had breakfast before a wander through Surfers, caught up with some friends, had fish'n'chips and fresh prawns(Yum) on the beach before heading home to celebrate with family over a roast dinner and Birthday cake!

Here's a pic of Jase and the kids on Main beach, Surfers Paradise on Fathers Day...

What a weekend!

Friday Foto and Embellished Round 6...

It's friday again and we're in September...in beautiful Spring.
It's a very special little girl's Birthday this Sunday, on Fathers Day...Can you believe that?? Ella's turning 4. My baby's growing up!

We have been counting the sleeps all week, as you do!
We are off to the lovely Gold Coast for the weekend, as a Birthday treat!
Ella wants to visit Seaworld and has never been before and Zac was only 2 when he went last, and he doesn't remember much. So it should be a very fun and action packed day!!
A catchup with some friends on Sunday to celebrate Fathers Day before more Birthday celebrations for dinner!
A busy and exciting weekend ahead!

Without further ado...Here is today's Friday Foto!
A little on the dreamy side today.

I've not long finished my Embellished Round Six layout. I still can't believe I've made it to Round Six?? Wowsers??

We had to create a layout with the following criteria:
At least 4 photos, Flowers, Circles, Staples, Tags, Sticker or a rub-on and some handstitiching. I've think I've covered everything!;)

And a close up...

So, enjoy your weekend and remember to spoil that special male in your life. Be it your Dad or your hubby!!
