Embellished Idol is on again!

I've participated in this competition on Embellished, for the last few years now and have loved it. The Challenges that the girls come up with are so challenging and rewarding once your layout is completed. I love being pushed to my limits and this competition really does that.
So, this is the first week...we had a pic to use as inspiration with yellowy golds and red. Here's what I came up with...

It's been 20 years...

Yep, 20 years since Jase left school.
We went to his 20 year School Reunion last night.
It was great catching up with old friends and some new ones.
I heard plenty of stories about what my dear husband got up to...some good, some not so good. It was a heap of fun.
They really are a great group and lots of them do keep in contact and I think now we will be keeping in contact with some he lost touch with.
They all said what a great time they all had, and I'm sore there was more than a few sore heads this morning.
We rocked in the door about 3.30am, so are a little on the weary side tonight.
All totally worth it though.

We love catching up with Derrin and his gorgeous family. He lives in Canberra but we usually get together once a year. Loved catching up with you!!
Derrin is one of those friends that you feel like you spoke to yesterday, that time never changes anything.
They get along like a house on fire and are the very best of mates!



I'm exhausted, so I'm off to bed.

This is her latest smile...


I'll tell you a funny story about Ella that happened this week.
I made a quiche for dinner one night this week, and left the dish to soak overnight, so I could wash it out next morning.
You worry when you can't hear her...it means she's up to no good!
She likes to help in the kitchen, so we have a little set of steps that she stands on, so she can reach the bench. I had the steps out as I was changing the beds and the sheets are in a high cupboard. She had dragged the steps over to the sink, where the dish was soaking and then proceeded to apply a "Ben 10" tattoo (of Zac's) to her arm. Yep, using the water in the quiche dish and the Chux sitting on the sink.
Lovely, huh??

It was funny, but you've gotta watch her like a hawk!!
She keeps me on my toes...she's the wild one! LOL

Jase and I are off to Jase's 20 year School Reunion. Now, that should be a blast.
He still keeps in contact with quite a few mates and some of them are going, along with their wives. One is coming up from Canberra and we always catch up with him at Christmas time. Looking forward to seeing him!!
I met some of the girls in his year at the Races last month, so it will be nice to catch up with them, too.

Latest Release - Blue Sky Cathedral

Adam Brand's new song is out...well, the filmclip has just been released.
It's on his latest album, "Hell of a ride". Another great song!!



He's doing well on Dancing with the Stars. Well, he's still there, isn't he??
I have to admit, he sings much better than he dances.
Although his cheeky smile will take him a long way, me thinks?! LOL

End of the week...it's Friday!!
Well, not the end of my week. It's going to be a busy weekend for us.
But, my lips are sealed for now.

We've been out at Ella's mid-year Kindy Concert tonight.
She did a great job singing the songs. We could hear her from our seats.
She knew every word! hehe
A nice night catching up with other families we don't often get to chat with.
Everyone's so busy...you usually just say Hi and Bye in the hallway!!

Making a comeback

Yep, I made a comeback last night.
I played my first Touch Footy game in about 4 years, and I survived...just!!
I can safely say, I'm not as fit as I used to be. LOL
A little sore today, but doing ok. Did I run??

I started playing Touch when I was about 16, and played every year right up til I fell pregnant with Zac. Then I went back after I had him and until I fell with Ella. After that, logistics seemed to hard with 2 kids and making sure Jase was home from work, so I could go and play. So, I didn't keep playing and the team I was playing with folded, so that was the end of that!

I do love playing though and am having lots of fun and meeting some new people. So,hopefully I'm going to get some fitness back in the process. It's a great workout...you basically run for an hour!!

Zac went back to school this morning. He was very excited to be going back to see his friends and his teacher! I'm loving that!!
Although, back to routine, making lunches and no sleep-ins til the weekend...bummer!!

I actually have some work to share...Woohoo!
It seems few and far in between at the moment, with doing so much for Scrapbooking Memories and my Design Teams. So, this was just for fun. My Yahoo group was having a CC this past weekend, and I thought I'd join in.
This was a Monochromatics layout, so we had to use one main colour with a few splashes of black and white. Love the result of this one.

This is me and my cousin, Nicole in Daylesford last year, being silly.
She's gonna kill me when she sees that layout....hehe
She's due to have her second bub any day now. I'm thinking of you!!

Friday seems to roll around so very fast!
Where has the week gone??

I've had one of the busiest weeks of my life.
A hard-working week. The sort that make all your muscles hurt and you discover ones you didn't know you had??
It's not over yet, another big day tomorrow.
I'll reveal what we've been up to, very soon.
You'll just have to wait just a little longer!

Here's today's pic...a very quick one in my PJ's a little while ago.
Then I've played with it in photoshop. This is with the lighting effects and I came up with this. It has a cool frame over the top...turned out kinda cool!!

The Skywalk

What a place??
We took a trip down to Mount Tamborine today to visit the new Skywalk.
For those who aren't Queensladers, Tamborine is about an hr drive from Brisbane.

Now, I'm not the best with heights at any given time, so this was a little on the scary side for me. My "jelly legs" tend to appear when I can see the bottom from a great height. I have no idea why? It just happens.
My mind tends to go into overdrive then...thinking what could happen??
So, given that and a skywalk that sways...you've got a hell of a combination.
I can safely say I did it...even if I was hanging on the whole way!!
Hard to believe I know, but Dad has the video to prove it!!

So, it takes about an hr to do the walk and it is fabulous. Lots to see, including a stunning waterfall and some fabulous views. I'd highly recommend it.
The kids had a ball!

This pic shows just how high the platforms are on the Skywalk.
This particular platform sways like crazy!! Fabulous views though.


So after we did the Skywalk we headed to the beautiful old pub, the Saint Bernard.
It's an old, german style pub...cosy and warm with the most amazing view out the back. We all had a delicious lunch, then checked out the surrounds.
We found these guys...I wonder what they were looking at??

Then a trip back to the main village to check out the shops. Old crafty shops from old wares, to arty handmade goodies and then the most delicios fudge...Yum!
I brought home to some very special Peppermint Swirl, which is yet to be devoured.

I must say the sleepy little village that I remember as a teenager is not what it is today. Very busy, especially on a weekend...but lots of fun none the less.

A fabulous day was had by all.

Friday again!!
It's been school holidays here, and I'm lovin' it.
Not too much happening, but it's been good. I love that there's no routine...do as we wish!
The last 2 days Zac and I have been home together. Ella's been at Kindy.
Zac asked me to help him learn ART! LOL
I've been playing with some mixed media, so he did some creating too.
I'll share a pic of his tomorrow, as I haven't taken a pic of it yet...it was still wet! He's so very proud of himself.

Here's what I finished off yesterday...


Ella took one look at it and has confiscated it as her own. It's in her room and she won't let anyone touch it. Must have been a hit! LOL

Then today, I've created these...



I've had so much fun creating them, with all sorts of mediums.
Loving getting down and dirty...not that my bench is clean?
But I love them... and that's what it's all about hey??

Now onto today's photo...it's been a tad windy here in Brisbane today...making it very cool. It's only going to get worse over the weekend, so a sleep in might be in order tomorrow! ;)
