Off he goes...

Jase is back off to Melbourne tomorrow...again!
Back to his second home, or so it seems at the moment.
His work has sure thrown us some curve balls of late. Gotta roll with the punches, go with the flow. What else can you do?

We've had a great weekend with him. We all watched Australia on Friday night on DVD until the kids crashed one by one. It's such a great movie. DH enjoyed it too.

Saturday we spent getting our camping gear. We are off on our maiden camping trip with the kids at Easter. It should be a blast, as there is 7 families going and around 20 kids. Should be a ton of fun, with lots of photo opportunities!!
Let's hope the bunny finds us, as we'll be a long way from home!!

A lovely dinner date on Saturday night with a work colleague and friend of Jase's. Was a nice night out, and dinner was delish!
Then home to watch the mighty Lions win their first game of the season. I'm so excited Footy season's back!! I love it!

Today I had a nice sleep in. How lovely is my husband?? He kept the kids quiet while I had a lie in and how good was it?? As for the rest of today, it was house duties. The yard needed mowing, I've done a ton of washing, so Jase has all clean clothes ready for another stint away. Not quite so long this time, due to Easter!! Yay!

We also searched under our macadamia tree and this is what we found...

We collected 2 bowls of them, so Jase and I were busy this afternoon breaking them open!! It was quite a task!
I've done a google search tonight and found out how to roast them, so that should be fun! Let's hope I don't burn them? LOL
I love macadamia's...Yummo!! Can't wait to try the finished masterpiece!

While we were cracking the nuts the kids were playing down on the front lawn.
Here's a cute pic of the two of them!! Sweet huh??

I'm a little biased but they can be so adorable sometimes!!

I hope you have a great week!

Friday Foto

The end of another busy week.
I went on another big ride today. Manda and I did 10kms today and I am no where near as sore today. Maz and Kerryn, thanks for telling me about the gel seat. I've been out and purchased one today and my padded bike pants will be here next week. I think I'm nearly all set! LOL

My darling husband arrived home this afternoon from Melbourne, just for the weekend. He's back on the plane on Monday morning.
We've kicked back and put our feet up with a glass of wine and watched "Australia" tonight. I loved it when it came out at the movies, so I had to buy it while I was out and about today. Jase quite liked it too.

I thought I'd better do my Friday Foto for you.
It was taken under our big macadamia tree today. We sure have some nuts to collect. They are everywhere down on the ground under the tree. We might go on a hunt tomorrow for some..Yum!! I love macadamia's!!

Here's today's pic...

Have a great weekend!

More layouts to share...

Yep...more layouts to share!!
I did promise these earlier, but Zac's excitement last post set me back a day or two!! LOL

I did these next 2 layouts for the Stamp Shak CC last weekend.
Our theme was "Amazing Destinations".
One had to be about a place that means a lot to you...a magical place that rejuvenates your soul.
Mine was Tangalooma.

And if you won a million dollars and you could travel anywhere in the world...Where would it be??
Mine is the Greek Islands!!
The pic in this layout is actually a print on my lounge room wall. I just love it!!

I've had a busy on working on DT layouts for Anna's Craft Cupboard and an upcoming magazine Challenge. I'll have to keep those under wraps for now!!

Enjoy the rest of your week!!

Future Star??

Some of you may know, Zac participated in Little Athletics this year.
He loved it!
We had our last day of the season on Saturday, followed by the presentations.
Zac collected his participation plaque to say he had completed his first year and level one of Little Athletics.
We left towards the end as the kids were tired. It had been a big day.

Aparently just after we left Zac was awarded another award, for the best in his age group...An Encouragement award.
He had improved the most over the athletics season and had broken his personal best in several events. Very exciting for a 6 yr old. You couldn't wipe the smile off his face this afternoon.
One of the Mum's at school collected it for him. Their little girl is also in his age group, and was in his class last year.

Here's some pics from Little Athletics this year...
Zac learning how to throw a discus.

The 100m dash.

The prized posession.

A very happy boy!!

So, I am a very proud Mum tonight.
I love that Zac gives 110% in everything he has a go at, and strives to do his best!!
That's all a parent can ask for.

Some scrapping to share...

I love it when I get time to scrap. I made time last night...had a late one, but it was all worth it. I even pulled out the sewing machine, thanks to Tiddlypeep!!
It's been a while...I had to dust the cobwebs off. LOL

Scrapchat had their Week 3 March Cyber Crop Challenge, which was set by my lovely friend Tiddlypeep. She thinks up some doozy challenges and this one was no exception. We had to complete 3 items using one piece of patterned paper, and some other elements.
This is what I came up with...

and a couple of cards...

As part of the festivities at Scrapchat, my good friend Leanne taught a class. Her simple, neat and clean style, is so not me. I felt the need to draw a doodled line around the outside, but have resisted. I love the finished result.

My Mum and Dad visited today, which was nice. Mum took over my scrap desk and completed her very first OTP...a cute little caddy for pens and scissors.
She's predominantely a card maker, but loved the OTP.
She's also teaching it to some card makers in a few weeks.

I have some more to share, but I'll leave that for tomorrow! ;)

I hope you had a great weekend!

Friday Foto

It's been another full on week.
Work and school, plus a little scrapping in between. I have heaps on atm.

Today I went for a bike ride with my SIL Amanda. We are preparing for a BIG Bike ride in about 6 weeks time. The Ride we are doing is called the Mall to Mall. Brisbane City, Queen St Mall to Ipswich City Mall. It's 50km's!!
I know!! I must be crazy??
How did Manda talk me into this????

I'll be estatic if I finish it!! So, today we did 8km's and my legs didn't hurt too much, but my butt is a totally different story!!
If 8km's is torture, how am I gonna last 50??
I think I need to go in search of a well padded comfy seat!! LOL
Wish me luck??

Another busy day tomorrow with sport. As Little Athletics comes to a close, Auskick is beginning. It's gonna be busy!!
Luckily one's in the morning and the other in the afternoon.
Zac loves both and is very excited about starting Auskick. Uncle Scotty is even going with him and he's stoked about that!!
Daddy is still away, working in Melbourne. He'll be home next weekend!

So, Sunday...is a chilling day. I have nothing planned and I'm excited. I might even get some scrapping done! ;)

Here's my Friday Foto...

The Stamp Shak CC is on this weekend. Drop by if you have time.
We have some fun Challenges with a "Amazing Destinations" theme!
Gift Vouchers at the Stamp Shak are up for grabs!

Have a great weekend!

It's over...

I've had a great few days teaching at the Paper Crafts Festival here in Brisbane.
I met some lovely ladies and had plenty of fun in the process.
I also caught up with quite a few Scrap friends. Too many to list here.
So, if I wasn't teaching, or serving customers at The Stamp Shak or Five Kids and a dog Stands, I was chatting. Not like me, hey??? LOL

Here's the layout class I taught, called "Doodle You".

My Handmade Embellishments class...

I still have some kits available if anyone is interested.
Just email me via the "Contact me" button in my sidebar.
Both classes come with instructions and a pic.

Doodle You class - $15 including postage.
Handmade Embellishments Class - $10 including postage.

You'll need to provide your own stamps, Stazon and paint for the Handmade Embellishments class, so that kit is a bit cheaper!

Have a good week!

Friday the 13th!!

Well, after having a few nerves this morning for the Paper Crafts Festival, it all went very well! LOL
I had a good day, for both classes!!
Nice to see some familiar faces around the place and I ran into some good friends!!

So, I'm chilling with a lovely glass(or two) of Chardy and kickin' back relaxing!
Spending some time with my gorgeous husband, who only flew in from Melbourne last night. He's been working down there for the last 3 weeks.
Nice to take some time, relax and enjoy each other's company!!
I'm lovin' it!

Here's my photo from today...it was taken late this afternoon on my front deck!

Enjoy the rest of your friday! :)

Check this out...

Can you remember me telling you about Adam Brand's Birthday Bash in Tamworth?
It's a show he has every year at midnight for his Birthday. He was born on Australia Day!!
It's an awesome night out and my favourite thing at the Festival.
Well, that night they were filming for an upcoming film clip for his new album.
The majority of the film clip was filmed in Tamworth at this year's Festival...cool huh??

I've been checking out Youtube for one of his new clips, and they have released the first one from his new album(that I got last week, and it's awesome by the way!!).
It's the title track...Hell of a Ride.

The song is all about his last 10 years in the music business.
I remember seeing him way back then, in Tamworth. He was in Ledgends bar, at Wests and he was free to see. We instantly loved his music and I think we saw him about 5 nights straight! LOL
I knew he'll be famous one day!

Here's the clip...

So, there you have it. Jase and I are in a film clip...LOL
Not that you can see us. We were up the back, but loved every minute of it!

Witch, to answer your question. He does have a song about a Grandpa. It's called Grandpa's Piano off his very first album. It's awesome it was shot at Norah Head Lighthouse. Such a beautiful place!
I can't find the film clip on You tube though. I do have it on a DVD and it's set up like an old church. That was 10 yrs ago!

Enjoy your Wednesday...domestic bliss for me today! LOL
Chores that is!! :)

What a night!

We headed to the Coast last night...the legendary Twin Towns actually, to see Adam Brand.
I went with my SIL Tracey and friend Kerry-Lee. Tracey loves Adam Brand like me, but had never seen him live on his own, only in a showcase.
Kerry-Lee is not a lover of Country Music like us, but happily tagged along to have a few drinks and enjoy some time with friends. I can happily say she's a convert after the show last night. She loved it and can't wait to go again!!

He's such an entertainer. He chats to the crowd, and gets plenty of crowd participation back. He's a real hit! His personality really flows through his show and his awe inspiring music. I can relate to what he sings about. I think that's what I like so much about him. Best of all...he's very humble and will not take anything for granted. I love that!

Here's a few snaps from the Show...

We were lucky enough to get a pic with him after the Show....Oh, and a cuddle! LOL
He was givng those out to the girls!!
So, I have my new album, signed and I'm loving listening to it!

Can't wait til he comes up this way again!

I'm really looking forward to it!!

We're off to see this guy...the delightful Adam Brand!

I think I may be turning into a groupie!! I'll be seeing him twice in 5 weeks!
I never get sick of his music, and he has a new album out tomorrow...I can't wait!!
I'm taking my camera, so look out for some pics tomorrow! :)

Here's my Friday Foto for today!

Have a good one!

Photo Challenge

I've been given a Challenge by Cindy!!
She commented on my blog recently and I thought I'd take on her Challenge!
Thanks Cindy! :)

What I have to do is...Find a photo Folder starting with the letter "C"(for her name) and then as "C" is the 3rd letter in the alphabet, I need to select the 3rd photo.

Here's what I came up with...

It was from Christmas time at Macleay Island, back in 2004.
My little man was only a littlie, at nearly 18 mths old.
The pic was taken at Jase's Dad and Step-Mum's place. Such a beautiful house high on the hill, overlooking the Bay. They no longer live there, which is sad as it was a beautiful spot!
This doesn't seem that long ago. How time sure flies!

A fun afternoon

It's been hot here in Brisbane today.
We went down to my sister, Kellie's place for a swim. Oh, it was beautiful!
Such a refreshing swim...a good cool off for all of us!
We stayed and had dinner, then headed for home with 2 tired kids!
Bedtime was easy tonight!

We've had another busy weekend. A Ten pin bowling party yesterday for a 5 yr old friend, Lucie. The kids had a ball!
Then, off to Little Athletics for a run around. Yesterday the kids did another 70m running race and they learnt how to throw a shot put. Very cute for 5 and 6 yr olds!
They were so funny, and so proud of themselves for giving it a go and that's what it's all about!

I had time to do a little scrapping, in between the goings on.
This week's One little word at Scrapchat was "today".
I found this quote and loved it. It's so true, and something we should all live by!
So, I had to use it.
My Friday Fotos have been coming in handy for some of these challenges!

My February - "She" Challenge at Scrapchat..."She just had this way of brightening the day".
Here's the front of my playing card...

and the back with the journalling...

I hope you had a great weekend.
Back to the weekly routine tomorrow!!
