Christmas with Nanny Sue

We had our Christmas with Jase's Step-Mum today.
She's working nearly every weekend til Christmas now, so we got in early!

We had a fabulous day. The kids had a ball, as they always do. We enjoyed some relaxation time with Jase's siblings and partners, which is rare. Everyone is always so busy!

We got all the kids...the cousins...from the siblings together. This is the one good photo out of about 8 that has them all looking at me!

Good News

We finally had some good news yesterday about our ABC Childcare Centre. Ella goes 2 days a week, while I work from home. I get so much done without any interuptions.
Anyway, our Centre is staying open. Thank goodness...finally what we've been waiting so long to hear! There were some very relieved parents and staff members when I got there this morning.

I really liked the Challenge this month on White with 1, so decided to give it a go. I always have good intentions, but don't seem to get them done too often. So much other stuff going on. I loved the Lime green, white and scallops...they are right up my alley! LOL

Here's what I came up with...

and a close up.

Don't forget you can still comment and be in the running for the RAK. It's open til midday on Saturday 29th November!

A windy weekend

After all the excitement and terror of the storms earlier this week, we've had the windiest weekend that I can remember. Very strong winds have dried my washing in record time this weekend! LOL
The rain is set to return later in the week, so we'd better enjoy the sunshine while it lasts!

I did a Challenge on Scrapchat last night. It is the Nov Sketch Challenge and love the result!
I must Thank Scrapwitch, who inspired me to use tissue paper on my layout...what a fabulous medium to use!

and a more detailed shot...

I've also finished off some ATC Swaps for my Yahoo Group...
A Christmas theme...

and our State Flower theme...

Not much else for the Jamieson family, just housework, Little Atrhletics and a ton of washing...the joys of domestic bliss!
Although, I did find some time for a little scrapping!

Flashback Friday

Yep, it's friday again...
While I was away on the weekend, I had so many comments about my Flashback Friday. I've had fun doing it, and plan on keeping them going til the end of the year, then I'll have to come up with something else that's fun!

So, keep checking back...2008 isn't over yet...

Who knows who Colin Buchanen is?? Everybody, I hope?
If you don't know his name, you'll certainly know his face. He's a Country star and also on Play School as a presenter!
We saw him in 1999 at Fan Fest in Tamworth! Heaps of fun...not long til we head down again to the Country Music Capital! I know Nan and Uncle Brian can't wait!

Without further ado...here's today's pic...

We've had a hell week with storms here in Brisbane. The worst of it not far from us. Last night we even had hail! I can't remember the last time it hailed here...
Zac was terrified, but with lots of reassuring and cuddles, he was ok. I think what he's seen on TV isn't helping. We've had 90 min news coverage last night, so plenty of pictures to see. Another one is developing out to the west, and apparently another one tomorrow night which could be quite severe. Better brace ourselves!

We are just lucky we live high on a hill...no flooding that way!

Have a good friday!

Layouts to share...

Here's some of the layouts I completed at the Retreat last weekend...
A few I can't share just yet, but I'll keep you posted!

A layout I did about Michael Clarke and Lara Bingle, who attended Zac's school fete a few months ago...They were lovely!

Zac's last day at Daycare. I sent my camera for the day and his teacher snapped all these great pics!

One for Ella...Dream big - There's nothing you can't do...

Zac's first Book Week...as the Big Bad Bunny!

Our trip to see Picasso...

Miss E is three - Unwrapping presents for Ella!

Lastly, a layout about me. Totally different for me...I went minimalist and I did a cheeky pic of me, and wrote journalling about the same topic!
This was Scrapmanda's Inspiration Challenge at the Retreat, and we had to use our favourite mug as our inspiration. I used my Mugs colours...Red, white and black!
Another great Challenge...Thanks Manda!

Thanks for looking...enjoy your Wednesday!

What a weekend...

I had a wonderful time away at the Scrapchat Retreat at Warana on the Sunshine Coast. A fabulous weekend of scrapping, friendship and not much sleep!
I arrived about 6pm to the Beach house, a chat to everyone then dinner and we scrapped the night away. Saturday was much of the same, then Sunday I spent the day doing a Point Shoot Play workshop. Wow...there's such a world out there!
It opened my eyes up to all the things you can do in Photoshop! Just awesome, so now I'm eagerly awaiting my Birthday present to arrive! :)
I'll fill you in what it is soon....

Did you hear about the worst storm we've had in 20 yrs...or so they say?
I had to delay my trip home til later last night due to the storm. It didn't hit the Sunshine Coast quite like it hit Brisbane so it seems. Jase called me and told me to hold off heading for home til the worst had passed. So, I had dinner with the girls still at the house before heading home around 7.30pm. What a wild ride it was...heavy rain, an accident and a huge traffic hold-up. A drive that hould have taken me an hr ended up over 2 hrs. None the less, I made it home safely, and passed through 3 suburbs that had lost power and traffic lights. It's so dark with no street lights. Something we don't see a lot of.

We faired ok at our place. Just water coming in under a door and in a window, but nothing major. Jase said we lost power but only for a few minutes. We live in Brisbane's northern suburbs where the worst damage was done. The Gap and Ferny Grove are not far from our place and seemed to have been hit the hardest. There's some details on the storm here.
We are in for another storm Wednesday or Thursday, or so they are predicting. Let's hope it's not as wild!

Flashback Friday

It's a quick blog post today, with my Friday Flashabck.

The Retreat is today....Hooray!
I'm really looking forward to seeing all the girls again. It's such a fab weekend!I'm still packing all my gear and haven't even looked at clothes and I leave in 3 hrs! Arrghhh!! But, I WILL be ready!!
My sister will be here around 3pm, then I'm off! :)

On to today's flashback...
I've got a rippa today...my Grade 12 School formal...way back in 1992!!
I didn't even really like pink, let alone wear it??
Anyway...we thought we looked fabulous. I'm not so sure now? lol

My formal partner was my at the time, boyfriend, Shane.
We broke up not long after I started hairdressing, then I met Jase.

Chat to you early next week...when I've had some sleep!

Update

Ella is doing much better...Thank you for all your well wishes.
She's all scabbed over...lovely, I know...so we are going to venture outside the house tomorrow! It's very exciting!!

The high temperatures only lasted a day or so and by Tuesday she was running around, back to normal. I've religiously put Solosite cream on, and as much as Pinetarsol stinks, I think it's doing the best job. It hasn't taken long for the blisters to disappear and scabs to form...amazing really!

Zac's Class made Ella "Get Well" cards on Monday...so very sweet. They have the loveliest teacher, Miss Nucifora, who we'll be sad to leave to head to Grade 1.
Ella just loved her cards!

Here's some of her beautiful cards...

This week is the last week of Project Scrapaway. We had to scrap a layout about something that's bursting to get out. I ended up doing my layout about how I had trouble conceiving my kids. Such a significant time in my life, that I remember like it was yesterday! I'm so lucky to have 2 gorgeous kids!

I'm off to a Retreat on the weekend and I can't wait...especially after the week I've had! Touch wood...no chicken pox for anyone else, including me! LOL

I've added some new goodies to my Etsy store this week. You can check them out here!

Guess what?

The Chicken Pox have taken over our house!
Yep, Ella broke out with chicken pox on Saturday morning. Great??

Atm she's running a fever and hasn't felt like much today except cuddles and plenty of sleeping on and off. She's watched movies and they've watched her.
All is good...think of what I'll get done this week creatively. I can't go anywhere...we're housebound. I even have my lovely neighbour dropping and picking up Zac from school. I'm set! (lol)

Now, let's just hope the rest of us don't get it??

I did have a little bit of creativity late last night when everyone had headed to bed. A couple of layouts from a CC I participated in this weekend!

I've been busy working on some new designs for my Etsy shop...I'll keep you posted!!

Flashback Friday

It's late, I'm tired but really wanted to get my friday flashback up.
Will chat more later.

Going through my scanned pics I came across this one. It's me chatting to my Uncle John. Uncle John is my Mum's younger brother. I take after this side of the family, with my olive skin.
I remember have a deep and meaningful conversation with my Uncle this night. I was getting married in a few months...this pic was taken at my cousin, Kylie's wedding in Feb 1998.
After seeing this pic, it reminded me of a pic at Kylie's younger brother(my cousin), Tim's wedding in April this year...except this time I was laughing hysterically at something my Uncle had said...I have no idea what??

Thought I'd share them with you...

The lady in between Uncle John and I is my Aunty Jackie...she's such a lovely person and only 10 yrs older than me.

I love catching up with these guys, and we have vowed to do it every 2 yrs...as we all live far and wide. I can't wait til the next one!
They are such kids at heart!!
