Layouts to share

I have my layouts to share from the CC on the weekend.
We had a fun time creating layouts about muusic and lyrics!

Here's mine...

This was my Challenge, using song lyrics at your title.

A Top 10 Playlist.

A layout with no photos...using song lyrics/title as your main emphasis.
Very simple for me, but I like it!

We had fun on the weekend, with Leanne asking me if Zac would like to be a model for a Photo Shoot she was doing to learn a little more with her camera. She had some wonderful tips from the lovely Rachel Richter. Leanne has some gorgeous shots of Zac on her blog. You can find it here.I'm looking forward to scrapping them!

Did some work in the yard. DH started a retaining wall while I painted the front gate he put on earlier in the day. Looks great, too. Just needs one more coat!

Apart from that, I've had Zac home today...feeling a little off colour. I think he'll be ok for school tomorrow. A quiet day today at home...watching movies and playing with his little sister. Ella sure loved having him home.

I promise to do my award next blog...been meaning to, but will get to it this week! ;)

Friday Flashback

The Stamp Shak Cyber Crop is on tonight and our theme is "Music", so today's flashback is tying in with this theme.

He's one of my favourite Country stars, besides Lee Kernaghan of course....He's the very talented and not too bad on the eye...Adam Brand.
Jase and I saw him in Tamworth again this yr at his midnight Birthday bash. His Birthday falls on Australia day, so he has a huge concert every year. Although, he's a little more popular than he was back some 10 yrs ago when we first saw him!!
You can't get near him to have your pic taken these days!!

This is way back in 1999...

The sun has finally come out here in Brisbane this afternoon, although still quite cold. Here's hoping for a nice weekend. Even if it's not...there's plenty of scrapping to be done!! :)

Have a good one!

Embellished Idol - Round 3

I made it through...Woohoo!!

Thanks to all that voted for me...Remember voting is on again this Friday from 5pm to 5pm on Sunday! You can vote here.

This week's Challenge was to scrap something on a material other than pattern paper. So, the thinking cap went on, and I came up with a cardboard box! LOL
I cut a piece of cardboard box, painted it several different colours, then embellished away!
The other part of the Challenge was that we had to use a motto. More decisions...but this is what I came up with!

and a close up...

I've mounted my cardboard on a canvas, so I can hang it on the wall.

Wish me luck....We'll see how we go this week!

V8 Supercars

Zac and I had an action packed day out at Qld Raceway(Ipswich) for the V8 Supercars.
Started out very cool, but soon warmed up. I even got sunburnt!

Plenty of action, with a few spills, but nothing too serious! The place was packed, lots of Race fans out to watch the day's events! They had V8's, stunt bikes, stunt cars, Formula fords, V8 utes and the Fujitsu series, that Grant Denyer won!!

A great day out. I haven't been for a few years, and Zac loved every minute of it!

Here's who were were supporting...the great Craig Lowndes!!
He didn't have the best day on Sat, but he did pretty well today.

My little man, all decked out in his Lowndes gear...Thanks Pa!!

I hope you had a good weekend!

Flashback Friday!

The end of another week...so, it's flashback time!

Here's a good one for you. Before I was married and shortly after, I raced Dirt Go-Karts with some friends. I was Dom's female co-driver. I did pretty well, too. In this pic, I was hot on this girl's tail. I'm in the greeny coloured kart behind the leader. So much fun racing these. I loved every minute of it!!

And I've finally finished this week's entry at Embellished! Everyone went through last round. No one was voted out...so look out this week!!
This week's challenge was to use paint in our layouts, as well as use a mask somewhere, journalling and a title.
Quite happy with how it turned out in the end!

Have a great weekend!!

More Layouts to share...

I was waiting for paint to dry on a layout last night and this one just evolved!
I'm trying to scrap some pics from our trip to the Whitsundays last year, so beware you could be seeing plenty more!! LOL

Love it when layouts just evolve. I did this one in around an hr which doesn't happen with me. I tend to deliberate too much!!

It's Conway beach...the Neverending beach...near Airlie!

I don't think I've shared this one yet. This was a sample from our last Cyber crop at The Stamp Shak...all about turning points in our lives.

A quick digi tonight...

I did this digi tonight for the July Digi Challenge at Scrapchat.
The kit is a freebie by Peppermint Creative and is called Wild weekend.

I really liked this kit. Here's what I did with it!

My little Miss Ella is a little unwell tonight. She's had some nasty vomitting, but seems ok, at the moment. Let's hope she sleeps through. Poor little one.

Layouts to share...

This past weekend I've done a few challenges on Cyber Crops. LSBS and my Yahoo group. It doesn't rain it hails!! LOL

Had fun just doing some layouts for a change, after all the work for the Masters!!

Sketch Challenge at Little Scrapbook Shop

Sketch Challenge for my Yahoo group

and a product Challenge on my Yahoo group

We've had a busy weekend cleaning up the yard. Cutting back trees/bushes and weeding the garden. Looks fabulous now, though.

We headed over to my sister's place for a BBQ lunch. Very nice, Thanks Kel and Dine!
The caramel tart was pretty delish!

So, it's been a busy, but good weekend!

Picasso and his collection

Zac and I went into the City yesterday to see Picasso and his collection. It's here til Mid September before heading back home to Paris.

We saw over 80 pieces of art...Paintings, sculptures and drawings. After he'd made a name for himself, he swapped paintings with the likes of Matisse, Modigliani and Renoir for a paining of his.
You could see his work change through the years. Quite amazing really.

There was a photo in the Collection that had many painters and writers during his time in it...Can you imagine what that would be worth?

It was a great day out...very enjoyable.

In the park on the way out, they had a kids activity making megaphones and blowing on these huge horns. Zac loved it!

Then it was off to the train for the ride home, which was another adventure!

Flashback Friday

It's friday again...and sadly the school holidays here in Qld are nearly over. I've enjoyed sleeping in this past fortnight. It's been very chilly here in the mornings. We are in the middle of our cold snap, but then the days are beautiful.
Just have to get out of bed...Tuesday is going to be a struggle! LOL

So, onto today's flashback...

This pic was taken on New Years Eve 1999...the millenium of 2000!!
My SIL Tracey's Bithday id the 31st December and that year she just happened to turn 30!! What a night to have a Birthday??
It was fancy dress, and we had to come as something starting with the first letter of our name...I went as Mae West. LOL
I'm pictured with my friend Catherine and she went as a Charleston from the 20's.
We had so much fun that night. There was alsorts there..from Bettlejuice, a Jamacian bob sleder(Jase), the little mermaid, a Teletubby and it wouldn't be a party without Dolly Parton...Why is it guys love dressing up as her?? LOL

Good memories from this pic!

I'll share some pics from our day to Picasso tomorrow!

Embellished Idol - Round One

I've finished it, and it's up in the gallery over at Embellished!
Please vote for me...that's how I stay in the game!

We had to create a double layout from a sketch, and we had to include a title, some journalling, at least 10 photos and a creative frame!

So, this is what I came up with...

I used the pics I took of Ella blowing bubbles for this one...it turned out very cute!

To earn some bonus points we had to create a Birthday card for a boy.

It's been a very cool day in Brisbane today. Cold start with a chilly wind, so we kept inside today. It's going to be just as cold for the rest of the week...Brrr.

Hope you've had a good Wednesday!

Bubbles and more bubbles

This afternoon the kids from next door came over and the boys played football and the girls blew bubbles. They blew so many that the boys joined in, too.
They had a ball out there. I love hearing giggles of delight from the backyard.
Ella was so excited about finally blowing them all by herself!

Here's some pics...

It's been a pretty quiet weekend for me. Lazy one yesterday...doing some scrapping while Dh was at my sister's pulling down her old patio in readiness for the new one arriving shortly! AS a reward, they took us out for dinner at the Broncos...a Seafood smorgasboard...OMG...Delish!! Know the way to a girls heart, and I didn't even pull anything down! LOL
Did some spring cleaning today, and my scrap space looks great, I might add.
Nice to be able to see the desk again, after lots of creating! LOL

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Embellished Idol

Well, it's on again, and after much deliberating...I'm back to have another go this year! I had so much fun in this competition last year, pushing my creative mind and coming up with layouts that are still some of my all time favourites!
I'm very proud of them!

So, tomorrow night starts Round One and I can't wait!!
Be sure to cast your vote each week, on the Embellished blog!
Or you can play along with the challenges.

Photobucket-Video and Image Hosting

Good luck to everyone else...may the scrapping begin! ;)

Flashback Friday

Another friday, that means another blast from the past!!

One of Jase and I from 1999, while in Tamworth for the Country Music Festival(yet again)!!
We were married 6 mths before. Jase had just started shaving his head...has a lot less hair nowadays, I might add!!
Check out my hair...short...loved it that way!

Young things back then...I would have been 24 and Jase 26.
Don't you love Jase's Bundy shirt?
They were all the rage back then!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Exploring our city...

We had a fun day out yesterday exploring our beautiful city of Brisbane.
The kids and I met my SIL Tracey and niece Melanie at Southbank. The kids had a play, some lunch then we decided we'd tackle a ride on the City Cat.
So, off we went...headed for New Farm Park, about 10-15 min ride towards the mouth of the Brisbane river.

Off we got, and headed staright for the big playground, for a play. This is a very cool playground...even for a grown up. It's set amongst the trees and looks like a ton of fun. The kids sure thought so!

Then back to the City Cat for the ride back to Southbank and a delicious BIG Cold Rock icecream was in order...Yummo! Then it was time for home, and to get ready for the footy last night.
Great result too...if you're a Queenslander!

I loved this pic of Tracey and Zac!
