Flashback Friday

It's a spooky Halloween friday today!
It seems to be getting more and more popular here in Australia. Ella dressed up at Daycare today, as a little Witch and we saw Trick or Treaters wandering around tonight...lots of fun!

On another note, it's also the Day for Daniel today.
The walk that happens each year to raise much needed funds for the Foundation.
If you don't know what it is, or who Daniel is...you can read about it here.
It's such a very sad story about this little boy.

Onto today's flashback...
This is me, in about Grade 1 or 2. Not sure which one, so it's either 1981 or 1982.
With Zac heading to Grade One in the New Year, I thought this pic was appropriate.
This is one of my better school pics. (LOL)

I hope you had a good Halloween!

Project Scrap Away Week 8

After being so busy last week with the Craft show it was nice to sit and create a layout last night. I'm feeling quite inspired of late!
I hope it continues, because I have so much to do this week.

I did my layout for Week 8 of Project Scrap Away last night.
The Challenge was about an Inspirational woman, and I was at a loss as to who to scrap about...until it hit me yesterday. With a little input from a friend, I ran with it!
Seeing it was National Pink Ribbon yesterday it seemed like a fitting topic to scrap about. I scrapped about 4 Aussie women all touched by Cancer!

Have a good Tuesday!

Flashback Friday

It's friday again!
I've been super busy this week, and am updating my blog, then I'm off to bed.

The Craft and Quilt Fair is on here in Brisbane this week. Set Up was Tues, then the show began on Wed. I've worked each day and still have Sat and Sun to go. I'm tired already!
All is going well, though...which is good. It's great chatting to like-minded people who really enjoy their hobby. It's nice to motivate them and teach them new things.

5 Kids and a dog also have a new release of words, that I have designed, which is exciting! They are going really well.

On to today's flashback...
Back in 1986, I did very well with Netball. I can't remember what all these awards are for, but I do remember this was my very first Best and Fairest award.
I was very proud of myself. I played Netball competively until I was 18. I made Regional school sides and Ipswich Representative sides, as well as playing at Club level. I even snagged the "Representative Player of the Year" when I was just 17, something that hadn't been done before in an Ipswich Representative side. I then lost my passion for Netball at that level when politics came into it...coaches and sporty mothers that pushed the boundaries on who knew who...I wasn't into that and just stopped playing...at all!

That's when I found Touch Footy and fell in love with the sport. I played in my Senior year at school and made the Regional side in that, too. I played that competively up until Ella was born.
So, that's my sporting run-down!!

Here's the pic of me and my trophies.

Another weekend over...

Yep, another one down and closer to Christmas.
Where do the weeks go?

I headed off to the Soccer on friday night. My sister, Kellie had 2 spare tickets to Ella and I went with Kel and Dine to watch the Qld Roar vs. Adelaide. Having never been to a live soccer game, I can see the frustration that this sport brings...in players and spectators! LOL
Lots of acting from both teams seems a very unfair way to play sport. There's no sportsmanship in Soccer...all for what you can get! Apart from that we had a great time and Ella loved it, except for the yelling. She wasn't into that, until we had to Boo, when Adelaide was kicking for a penalty goal. She thought that was fun.
It was her first ever BIG sporting event, and she was pretty good...for a 3yr old.

Here's a pic of Charlie Miller's penalty kick for goal...he didn't convert sadly.

Saturday we spent looking for a new lounge. Needless to say, we still haven't got a new one. I came home with a headache after seeing so many lounges...do we go chaise, recliner or sofa?? What to do...we ended up coming home to clear our heads. We'll tackle it again soon.

Little Athletics on Saturday afternoon for Zac. Always lots of fun.

Today we have done all the housework, washing and Jase mowed. Our house is looking very tidy...well, for now anyway!

Tomorrow is a pupil free day here in Qld, so it's a little like a long weekend. It's good though. It's nice having Zac home.

I've completed my layout for Week 7 of Project Scrapaway. This week we had to use at least 3 stationary supplies. Had fun with this...I used an envelope, some paperclips and staples.
Some pics of Ella and me on Dorothy's Rosy tea cup ride at Wiggle world.

I also want to give a big Shout out to Rebecca from Edward and Lilly. She showcased my birdies on her blog and gave them a huge wrap which totally made my day! Rebecca is a Brissy girl who makes beautiful handmade creatures and sells on Etsy. They are gorgeous!

I have stocked my Etsy with a heap of new birdies. You can check them out here.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Friday Flashback

Friday is upon us, once again!
I even started some Christmas shopping today...it's only just over 2 mths away, you know?? It's coming fast!!

Today's flashback....it's Jase, me and I'm holding my little godson, Riley...way back in 2002. The hair was much shorter then.

It was at Riley's Christening. Jase and I are his godparents.
He is now a wild 8 yr old!

I've been a bit low this week. I'm fighting off the horrible lurgy. Slowly getting back to normal. I'm working at the Craft Show next week, so I hope I'm over it by then!

I also want to wish my cousin, Nicole a very Happy Birthday for today!

Have a good friday!

A busy time for Birthdays...

October is a very busy month for Birthdays for us.
Plenty of friends and family...then my little niece Amelia is on the 11th and DH(Jase) is on the 12th. We thought that when my SIL Kate went into labour she may nearly born on her Uncle's(DH) Birthday, but it was not to be. They are very close...a day apart!!
Yesterday we celebrated Amelia's first Birthday. She's such a cutie, and a placid, happy little girl. She's just started walking, and doing quite well at it too.

Here's some snaps from yesterday...

Amelia enjoying a lemonade ice-block...she loved it!!

A family shot...cutting the cake!

Check out these two...they had a ball. Zac riding the bike and Ella hitching a ride!! LOL

They crashed on the way home, and an early night for everyone in the Jamieson household last night! Just what we all needed I think!

On another note...Bathurst had a fabulous end. Lowdnesy and Whincup brought it home, from early on in the day. I had to keep getting updates throughout the party!

Hope you had a good weekend!

Flashback Friday

Quickly blogging tonight...about to head out to a 5th Birthday Party for Ella's Daycare. Should be a fun night with clowns and a magic show, I'm told.
Pity it's been a wet day, so it won't be held outside.
Should be fun, none the less!!

Today's flashback is me...on my 2nd Birthday!!
I'm with my cousin, Kylie...check out her big curls!!
She reads me blog, so she'll appreciate that comment...hey Kylie??

It's scary...
I can see Ella in this pic. She is so much like me at this age. Mannerisms and everything! Mum sure thinks so!! LOL

Have a good friday!

Weekend Update

I've had a great weekend...a little on the busy side, but that doesn't happen every weekend, so it was a nice change!

I headed to Girls Night In hosted by Gypsyangel, from Scrapchat.
We had a fabulous time. We scrapped, ate, talked and even shave lovely Lexie's head for charity! She one very brave chicky!
The oath was she'd shave it once we hit $800, and at last count it was well over $1100! Not a bad effort, hey?? I had the honors of doing "the shave" being a professional in the field...LOL I even tried to talk Lex into a longer clipper blade, but she was adamant she wanted a #2!! Looks great though!!

Sadly, again I didn't take many pics...I seem to get onto the job at hand at a crop! That's to scrap. I even got 3/4 finished a double layout, 3 singles and a card. Not bad for about 7hrs!!
I've finished them off this afternoon, so I'll share tomorrow.

After Girls Night In I had a 40th Birthday to attend. So, popped in fashionably late to catch up with plenty of friends and family, some drunker than others, hey Kate?? They decided to kick on and head to a local club for a few more quiet drinks, so to be social...I went along! I caught up with a friend from school, who I haven't seen since high school. She was on her Hens Night, and to make the whole 7 degrees of seperation more weird...Jase and I know the guy she's marrying quite well!! How weird is that??
I also saw my old PE teacher...very weird!!
A very small world!!

I think Ralph had a good time...and no, that's not his real name...it's his nickname. He looks a lot like Ralph Malph from Happy Days, with red hair and all and has been called this since I met him, many yrs ago.

So, a VERY late night for this chickadee.'But so glad I went to the party to catch up with everyone...I had a ball!

After my biggest sleep in in years...10am...can you believe it??
We headed to my sister, Kellie's to pick up the kids. We stayed for lunch, a chat and the kids had a swim...the first of the warmer weather. They loved it!

Here's some pics...

and check out, Edwardo the Pool Cleaner...LOL
Jase was helping Kel pick up leaves!!

Hope you had a good weekend!!
