Happy New Year and a Birthday wish

Happy New Year everyone...or well, that's what I'll be wishing you in about 5 hrs!!
Have a good night, with whatever you are doing. It's wet and miserable here, in Brisbane tonight. It's been shocking weather due to the big low that was supposed to be a cyclone, but didn't eventuate! A good night to stay in, and do some scrapping!! LOL

I also want to wish my Sister-in-law Tracey a very Happy Birthday for today. She goes to a party every year for her Birthday...how lucky is she??
We popped over today and had a nice lunch with her and gave her a pressie!!

Sanctuary Cove visit

We headed down the Gold Coast to Sanctuary Cove today. My Uncle John and Aunty Jackie are up on holidays for Christmas from Melbourne. Jackie's Mum and Dad have just bought a beautiful BIG home at Sanctuary Cove. It's such a beautiful spot down there, and the homes are stunning. We headed out to the Marina for lunch, which was delicious. Had to have prawns! LOL

Lucky we went today, the weather here in Qld is supposed to be turning bad tonight. They have evacuated all the campers from Fraser Island and surrounding areas due to the wild weather. It was quite windy down at Sanctuary Cove, and windy at home when we got back. Having a quiet day in tomorrow...means I might get a little scrapping done! :)

We bought the kids a DVD player for the car a few months back(it's great for long trips - I can highly recommend one), so that's what the headphones are for. Check out Ella on the way home!!


My kids are obsessed with taking photos...probably because of their Mum sticking a camera in their face all the time! Talk about the paparazzi!!

Seeing last week, I put a pic up of my sister and I from about 1986, I found one from last Christmas(2006). It's my sister, my Mum and me...and it's still waiting to be scrapped! LOL

Christmas Day

We started Christmas day at home, which hasn't been common practise the last few years. It was nice been woken up by the kids and all the excitement of Santa Claus!
Zac was the first awake at 5.45am, which wasn't too bad. Ella following closely behind. Zac went and woke her, so they could check out their presents.

Zac has been asking for Batman lego for months, so guess what Santa brought?


Miss Ella is "Dolly" mad, so look what Santa brought her?
(and yes, that is vegemite on her face! LOL)Ella's Dolly cries, coos and giggles as well as goes off to sleep when you feed her...she just loves her! We have to put her to bed in her new dolly cot, beside Ella's bed, every night.


After the excitement of opening presents, we headed over to my sister's place. We had a nibbly lunch, then a big meal late afternoon, and it was delish!! Thanks Kel and to Ian for cooking the yummy BBQ.


Quite a few drinks were had, a game of poker and plenty of Wii.

A great time was had by all. Definately a different Christmas for us, Queenslanders. We are usually dying from heat exhaustion, but not this year, it was very mild. I don't think we've had a Christmas day with a top temp of 27 degrees. Very strange??

Christmas festivities with The Jamieson's!!

I hope you all had a fabulous break over Christmas with family and friends. Ours began on Sunday(23rd) with Christmas with Jase's side of the family. It was at his brother, Scotty's place. Lots of fun. There is 6 kids, now, and that's what Christmas is about...the kids having a ball, and they did!! Their lounge room was full of presents, which turned into ripped paper in a matter of minutes! LOL
We had a really nice day, just hanging out together. My future SIL, Kate(Scotty's fiance) exposed us girl's to this really cool Murder-Mystery game online. Very cool! Just have to have some time to download and settle in to solve some crimes!! LOL

We took out Wii also, and it got a fair workout, with even my MIL and FIL getting in on the action, playing golf, baseball and ten pin bowling!! My poor MIL woke up with a sore forearm on Christmas Eve...must have given her a workout!!

This is the newest member of the Jamieson family...little Miss Amelia, and her big cousin, Ella just adores her!! We had just arrived when Ella decided she wanted to have a cuddle.

Melanie and Ella had heaps of fun with this cute little bubble blower that Seth got for Christmas. They made a big pile of bubbles, then Ella would jump on them!

Huge News!!

So, I don't submit layouts much to the mags. After a few knockbacks, I thought "why bother?". I've probably sent in a handful of work over the past year.

I saw that SM were having a "freestlye" theme in an upcoming addition, so thought why not...Let's try again! Well......guess what??

I'm being considered to be published!! Won't count me chickens just yet, as it still has to get in the mag. I don't think I'll believe it, til I see it...in black and white!! What a cool Christmas present. Still in shock, but very excited indeed!!

Thanks to the lovely girls I caught up with today, who encouraged me to keep submitting. Thankyou...I will! :)

In other news, today I caught up at Lexie's house with some of the Qld Scrap girls!! I really love catching up with these fab girls, they make me laugh and smile!! I always have a great time.
All up there was, Amanda, Lexie, Gypsy, Peggy, Sandy, Nadine, Leanne, Cass and Lu! Was great seeing Nadine, Cass and Lu again!! :)
Our guest of honor was the delightful, Sandy, who is up here holidaying with family for Christmas. She's up from Melbourne for a few weeks. It was lovely to meet you, Sandy!

In other news, we took the kids for a trip into the City last night. We parked at Southbank, had dinner, then walked across the bridge to see the BIG(and I mean BIG) Christmas tree outside the Casino. Zac was mesmerized!! We walked down the mall to the Myer windows, which they all thought were quite impressive, then back over to Southbank for the fireworks...Well, we got to the bridge and they started...We still got to see some of the show, then we headed home.



We have our Christmas tomorrow with DH's family...so, I'll be sure to have a few pics from that tomorrow!! :)

Have I got a treat for you today! Seeing it's so close to Christmas, I'll share this old beauty. From what I can gather, this must be about Christmas 1986. It's me and my sister Kellie opening presents on Christmas morning.

Wow...that's going back in time. They sure don't make them anymore!



We're off to visit the big Christmas tree in King George Square in the City tonight, then had over to Southbank for the fireworks!

Congratulations Leish!

Just wanted to wish my US Scrap buddy, Leish a big Congratulations on the safe arrival of her little boy, Cameron. He was born 10.42pm New York time on 15th Dec!

Both Mumma and Bubba are doing well, and are home already! Congrats guys!! :)

A new 'Hairdo"

I took a trip to my fave hairdressers today....where I used to work...I'm a hairdresser you see...if you didn't know!!

I love catching up with the girls and Gary at the salon. Gary gave me a shorter cut, which I love...much easier to handle! I had about 3 inches cut off, which it desperatly needed. I haven't had hair that long since high school!!

I feel great after having a new "hairdo"!!

Weekend Update

Not too much on this weekend...seeing I've done all my Christmas shopping. YAY!!
I'll do my update in "dot" form!

* Daycare Christmas party was on Friday night. A great night, they had a magician show, a sausage sizzle and a visit from Santa. Both kids were impressed by all!!

* We got some cucumber seedlings for Zac's Vegie patch. He loves growing things and has to check his tomatoes daily at the moment...we've got heaps off the bush lately. Must be all the rain...we'll see how the cucumbers go!

* After doing the housework today, we headed over to my sister, Kellie's for a swim. The water was beautiful and the kids had a ball!! I had to drag Zac out, with his teeth chattering!!

I have finished a special album for a Christmas present, just last night. I can't tell you who, as they read my blog. Just have to wait and see who it's for! :) So, I can get back to some regular pages, which will be good!

I have been playing with digi the last week or so. I've done two layouts, but this is my fave. Not as hard as I first thought!! Thanks to a tutorial on Youtube, I'm getting a little better! This kit is by Amt Teets and is called Sun Porch. It's from Shabby Princess.



and another one I did for this month's challenge on Scrapchat. We had to Scraplift a layout from the gallery and I chose a layout by my sweet friend, gypsyangel.

Friday Flashback

I'm lovin digging around in the old photos. Amazing what you find!

This one is from my days as a Marching girl. I was in the Portland(Vic) Marching girls as a youngster, with my cousins, Kylie and Nicole. We travelled all around Victoria on the weekends competing in our age groups. I remember our last competition...can't remember where it was...we won State Champions, and our age group. This photo was when we were in Midgets. In Midgets you get to were the Buzzbee(that BIG hat) and marching boots...before than it was white sneakers and a little hat!!

The BEE movie, visiting Santa and cupcakes!!

Yesterday I took the kids to see the Bee movie. It was great...they LOVED it!! A very cute movie. Ella fell asleep in the last 30 mins. LOL That was fun!!



Then we headed to do a few errands...like send the last of my Christmas cards...YAY, they're all done!! We wandered past Santa, and there was only one lot of people there, so I thought now or never! Ella has being scared of Santa this year...not sure why. So, when I said we were going to see Santa she freaked! She kept telling me "NO" and "I don't want him!". I told the elf and Santa our problem, and the Santa was excellent. He chatted to Zac, and asked him what he wanted and she seemed ok. She actually warmed to him in the end, even gave him a Hi-5!! Although, I had to sit on Santa's lap with Ella on my hip! I'll show you when I get the pic back!

Today we've had a quiet day. We've made baby cupcakes, which the kids helping to make! Yummo...a delish afternoon tea today! Zac has already taste-tested one, so not sure if there will be any left for Daddy tonight.

Christmas with Nanny Sue

We had our Christmas get together with Nanny Sue yesterday. Nanny Sue is Jase's Dad's ex-partner. Got it?

We have a lunch with her every year to celebrate Christmas. The kids love it, as they get spoilt rotten. Lots of presents for the kids, which they love. It was a really nice day and everyone had a good time.

Zac's Preschool Graduation

Zac graduated Preschool last night. That means my little man is off to school very soon!! Wow...how time flies!

They all dressed up in a farmer theme last night to put on their little concert. Was very cute and then their teacher, Miss Jess presented them with their certificate's. A really good night, and Zac was pretty pleased with himself. He can't wait to go to school.

Christmas Photo Shoot

Friends Christmas party

We have a Friends Christmas party every year. We've been doing it about 10 years now. A chance to catch up and get together. When we first started there was only a few kids....well, we've definately multiplied!! At last count, I saw 17 kids there today!! Holy Moley!!
Apart from a huge downpour of rain, we had a great day. Every year to date it has been soooo hot, and we needed water, but this year we went to water and it rained...Go figure??
Our friend, Glen dresses up as Santa each year, and we all bring a present and Santa hands them out! The kids love it, and it's become a tradition! The older ones know it's him, but haven't spoilt it for the little ones!!
