Slaughter Falls

We headed over to Slaughter Falls on Mt Cootha today. A beautiful day, and Zac and Ella loved it. We did a little walk through the bush. Zac loved it...exploring, while Ella was happy following Zac!

There is a little bit of water running in the creek, not much though. It's a lovely spot for a picnic. We took our morning tea with us, and Zac told me he was tired by 11.30am and "Mum, we might need to go home for lunch and a sleep". He knows his routine!

Here's a few photos...

Lunar eclipse

Have you been out to see the Lunar Eclipse? It's very red...quite spectacular. My camera doesn't have enough zoom. I just get a red dot! LOL Pretty cool though.

I have been trying to use some older papers up at the moment. Seems never ending. This layout I did last night, with some Urban lily papers I've had for ages. The pic was taken at Christmas last year. How these two have grown in that time! It's my niece Mel, and Ella.

Not much else today, very quiet. Jason is away in Adelaide, just for the night. He'll be back late tomorrow night. He's sure clocking up the Frequent flyer miles of late!

Fun pics:)

A quiet weekend here at the Jamieson house. Not much on, just menial jobs and a Dentist visit. All good though, just a check up for me!

I did a little scrapping. This one I did for Karen(kata) in the August photo Swap over at Scrapbooking Memories Forum. It's some beautiful pics from her wedding.

While the kids were out playing in the backyard this afternoon, I decided to get the camera out and have a play with it. I got some great pics of Zac and Ella. Zac is always willing to pose for photos, but Ella isn't quite so willing.

Here's a couple of favourites!

Embellished Idol - Round Four

Well, results came out on Friday morning, and I'm still alive in Embellished Idol. This week we had to create a L/O using at least 3 X 3"x2" photos, a title and journalling. A bit of a challenge. I don't tend to use that size very often, but it made a nice change.

This L/O is all about "The changing face of Zac" and how he is growing up so fast.

We'll see how I go this week...

I'm off to watch the Lions beat Adelaide on Tv...well, I hope they win!?! They are about to kick off!

Layout Share

Just a quick post tonight, to share a layout I've done this week. We have had so much rain here in Brissy, which is great! Good scrapping weather! LOL

This one is a Design team L/O for Serendipity. I have another one to share, but haven't taken a pic yet. I'll leave that one for tomorrow :)

These photos are from our holiday at Airlie Beach. The beautiful Cedar Creek falls. I used the new Basic Grey papers - Mellow range.

Embellished Idol - Round Three

Hi all,

Monday again! I have so much to get done this week, it's crazy!! But, I'm up for the Challenge. Let's see how much I get done.

Results for Embellished Idol came out on friday. I'm into round three, and having heaps of fun creating L/O's for this comp. I love Challenges that make me really think. This comp has definately done that. We had to use tags this week. I've been hoarding tags for a while now, so it was nice to use some.
As a lot of you know, I'm a big Elsie fan, and had to use these divine papers on this L/O.

Here's my entry for this week...

It's been raining here in Brisbane since yesterday(Sunday) lunchtime. We've had over 30mls of rain, which is a huge amount for SE Qld. The highest fall for August in 5 yrs. It was lovely crawling into bed last night to hear the rain on the roof. Something that doesn't happen often. I hope it keeps falling and we get plenty more.

We had our friend, Barney's Suprise 30th Birthday party on Saturday night. He was a little overwelmed by all the fuss. He doesn't get embarrassed very often, but was on Sat night. We had a great night, catching up with friends we hadn't seen in a long time. Barney's Birthday is actually on Wednesday, so I promise I'll wish you a big Happy Birthday then.

Apart from that, not much went on for the weekend. Bit of shopping and the kids had a sleepover at Nana and Pa's while we were at the Party. I don't know who had more fun, the kids or my Mum and Dad?? When Jase and I got there to pick the kids up, they were in the shed working with Dad on his race car. Zac loves it especially...playing in the grease and with all the tools in the shed.

Not much else to add today.

Quick share

Just thought I'd share a few things I've done this week.

Not feeling totally creative the last few days. But I got this CJ done and a simple L/O! The CJ is for Simone on Scrapbooking Memories forum. Hope she likes it.

The scan isn't really true to colour. The background colour is a really nice green, not so olive looking, but you get the idea!

And a L/O of Zac...our little man!

My sewing really is straight on my L/O...for some reason I can't take a straight photo of a L/O when I photograph it on the floor!!

Not much else going on here. Zac had his 4yr old needles this morning, and was a very brave boy. Didn't even cry...and still got 2 jelly beans! LOL

Embellished Idol - Round Two

Well, I made it through Round One. So many beautiful L/O's over there at Embellished!

This week we had to use a paint chip on our L/O and use those colours only, with a little bit of black and white. This was a challenge. I used a photo from my Whitsundays holiday...I just love it. So calming and peaceful.

And I have my 3 people to make something for in the Pay it forward Challenge. So, Louise, Witch and Tamara...you'll have something handmade from me, hopefully soon. Still deciding on what to make you guys...but will get onto it shortly.

Enjoy your day.

The Weekend Wrap

Another weekend over...and it's Monday, again!

I got a couple of movies on Friday night, after work...only watched one as I had a shocking headache. But, it was good. It was "The last King of Scotland", the story of Idi Armin. As I was only born in this era, I didn't know much about it, apart from him being a Dictator. Great movie, if you want a bit of a history lesson. I will warn you though...it's a little gruesome. Lots of gory parts!

Saturday...Felt much better(headache gone), Jase worked, so popped out with the kids for a shopping trip. Nothing exciting. Home to scrap, and watch the Lions on TV. Not good...they LOST!! Got started on a Challenge for the LSBS Cyber crop which was over the weekend.

Sunday...Had lunch with my family, as it was Dad's birthday on Saturday 11th. Happy Birthday Dad! We had lunch at the Centenary Tavern which was delish! Yum!

I also have to wish my BIL, Barrie a very Happy Birthday for yesterday(12th). August is a very busy month for family and friends Birthdays...but I'm keeping up with them!

That's about it...not that much going on.

Here's my L/O's from the Cyber crop.

Embellished Idol - Round One

Well, I signed up for Embellished Idol. I don't know how long I'll last. There are heaps of fabulous scrappers over there! It'll be a challenge anyway, if I make it through a few rounds or not.

Round One was a sketch Challenge. Here's my take on the Challenge.

We met Aunty Tracey for lunch at Southbank today. She's on holidays and loves catching up with her niece and nephew. The kids played on the playground and had a long walk up the Rivers edge. I took this pic. A georgeous day in beautiful Brisbane, today.

Pay it forward

While reading some of my Scrap friends blogs, recently, I came across this amazing concept.
Here's how it works...

Pay it Forward

Here are the rules:
The first three people to comment here (who would like to be involved in the Pay It Forward Challenge) will receive a handmade gift from me. All you have to do is keep the fun challenge going by agreeing to create three handmade gifts for three more people...SO, if you would like a gift hand made by me, just be one of the first 3 to pop in a comment!! :)

EASY PEASY! So if you would like to join in, add your comment, the first 3 get a handmade gift from me, and then you post the same thing on your blog (just copy and paste the rules)and keep paying it forward.

Maz is making me a beautiful handmade gift.
I wonder what I will make...:)

Soccer star

We didn't get up to much, on the weekend. Daddy worked on saturday, so the kids and I decided to head out to watch my nephew, Michael play Soccer. He only has a few fixtures left before finals. He plays at Qld Roar..:)They have such loud uniforms!!

Michael's a defender...so doesn't get the glory of scoring goals! But, he defended some good balls on saturday. Zac was more interested in the chips at the canteen! LOL
Here's a few photos!!

Michael is on the left. With a little friend.

Apart from that...did a few L/O's on Scrap Therapy's Cyber crop. Weeded the front garden, and not much else!! A quiet weekend!

Here is one of my L/O's from the CC.
Another one from my Whitsundays holiday, a few mths ago!!
