Happy 4th Birthday Zac

Today is Zac's Birthday and he turned 4. Yes, he's a Tax Baby. Our accountant always jokes about him arriving just in time. He arrived at 8.43pm.

He woke about 7am and walked right past his presents sitting on the coffee table with his name on them. Came and woke us, like he does every morning. Although, he did remember it was his birthday. So we all got up and opened his presents. We gave him a work bench with tools he can build things. He's very much a BOY'S boy. he also got Spongebob Squarepants on Xbox and some new reading books.
After the presents were open, the phone started ringing. Nana and Pa, Grandma and Grandpa and lots of Aunty's, Uncles and cousins.

Then we headed out to see Nemo on Ice this afternoon. It was fantastic. Disney really do a wonderful job putting these shows together. No expense spared on costuming or props. A great show...I highly recommend it. Zac and Ella loved it.

Then home for a McDonalds treat for the kids and a stop at the Cheesecake shop, for Zac to pick a cake. He's definately my son, when it comes to good taste in cakes...he picked a white chocolate mud cake. Everyone was very satified with his choice! Yum!! :)

So, now Daddy and Zac are playing Spongebob on Xbox, Ella is in bed and I'm about to do some scrapping, while i watch the Lions (win - hopefully!).

Love seeing this

I really do love seeing this.

Watching these two play together, no fighting! I took this pic yesterday. It's been a few wet days. I'm not complaining!

Zac and Ella played in Zac's room and played Pirates for ages yesterday. :)

I whipped this L/O up last night. Came together quite easily. It's my niece, Mel and Zac, at the Park during the last holidays.

and these pics have been sitting on my desk for a while, waiting to be scrapped! Look how little Ella was! She was only about 6 mths in the pics, and she's nearly 2!!

The weekends effort

We have a quiet weekend after the busy one last week. Saturday we took Zac Birthday shopping(He turns 4 next Sat 30th June), to get some ideas on what he'd like and I am now more confused than ever. There are 1001 things on his list!

Today I had a Nutrimetics Party with a few family members and a friend. Nice little get together and we pampered our eyes and apparently took the puffiness away. After the few late nights I had last week, it was just what the Dr ordered. A fun afternoon.

Scrapping wise, I did my entry for the June Monthly Challenge over at Scrapbook city. We had to create a frame, either from scratch or a bought one. I made one from scratch, out of chipboard.

I also completed a Circle Journal for the lovely and very talented Scrapwitch. Had fun with this little Journal, titled "Happiness is..."

Have a good week.

Huge weekend

Where do I start?

Friday morning, Jase flew to Melbourne for work. A big retail company has come onboard, with the company he works for, so he was training sales reps on the various types of awnings they stock.
Then I was watching Sunrise yesterday morning, when breaking news came up to say a gunman had shot 3 people near the Rialto. Well, panic set in...Jase stays at the Rialto hotel, right next to the Tower. Called him, all good, he was on his way to the retailer. Can you believe he left the hotel 20 mins before the shooting??
I knew this area, as we stayed there when we holidayed in Melbourne in January...spooky hey?? Hope they catch him soon!!
Thank goodness he checked out yesterday morning, before the mayhem, and arrived home safely last night!

On to Friday night...Zac had his mid year Concert at Preschool, named "Rumble in the Jungle". He had been telling me all week, he was a tiger. At the Concert, he was actually 3 animals - a tiger, a zebra and a monkey...they had 3 songs to sing and dance too. Very cute indeed!
Zac is the middle monkey in the black shirt! :)

Then Saturday I went to the Ipswich Cup with some friends and family. Heaps of fun and I'll use any excuse to dress up. I wore a fascinator..my first fasinator experience. We had breakfast at a friends place before the Races, and got hooked on a tree branch at the front of her house...very funny for those who saw it, but obviously I'm not used to wearing something that big on my head!!
A very fun day, with catching up with friends from High school and others that I know from around Ipswich.(When my family moved to Qld back in 1987, we settled in Ipswich. Mum and Dad still live up there, so have lots of friends up there.)
Me and the girls...L-R - Kim, Donna, Tracey, me and Lee-Ann. The boys had already left for the Races when we took this pic!

Sunday - no sleep in, as the kids were up early. My sister Kellie had them for me on Saturday while I was at the races, so I stayed at her place. She's a great sister!! :)
Kellie and Dino were having a Nutrimetics party in the afternoon, so we hung around. Went for a shop at Centenary in the morning and got a few things for Zac's party in a few weeks. Went to the Nutrimetics party, then headed home for dinner and an early night.

Happy Birthday Amanda and Grandma

Just wanted to wish my dear sister-in-law Amanda(Jase's little sister) a very Happy 30th birthday for today. We had dinner at my MIL Nancy's tonight. Just family and a friend of Amanda's. She had organised games for the kids...Isn't she a sweet Aunty?

I also have to wish my dear MIL, Nancy a very Happy Birthday for last Sunday. She reads my blog regularly, so belated Best wishes for you. XXxx

It was the LSBS Cyber crop over the weekend, I got a few of the Challenges done.

The Cyber crop's theme this month was all about friendship. This one was about my online friend Amanda. She's a real sweetie. It was based on the "True colours" song by Cyndi Lauper, or we had to use the title of "Real beauty". It also had to have journalling about why this person is special to me. Love the result!

This one was also about friendship and with each person in the photo, we had to use that many of each embellishment. I had 8 people, so I had to use 8 of the same embellishment. A bit of a test, but I got there.
These are some of the lovely girls I met last year in Sydney.

The long weekend wrap up

It's been a bit of a blur...but, we've made it to Monday night, and I don't know how it happened! Don't long weekends fly by so fast?

Friday and Saturday - I worked. Then Sunday, I went to the Scrapbook and Papercraft Convention. Kellie(my younger sis) and I did a class with Kim Kesti from Pink Martini. We made a cute little mini book, and when I complete the finishing touches, I'll share it with you.
Kim was lovely. She's from Arizona, in the USA. She was enjoying our weather because it was scorching heat back at home.

Kim and me

After our class, we met up with some lovely girls I chat to online. We had lunch with Ms Zane, her friend Sue, Ali and her Mum, Scrapmanda, not nigella, gypsyangel and her Mum. We all then headed off seperately to shop to our little hearts content. I met up at 2pm with a few girls from LSBS forum - Scrapmanda, not nigella, Kayla and Shannon. Nice to put faces to names, and meet some of these georgeous girls.
Off to shop again. I finally left about 4pm, and I was exhausted. My head cold had really taken hold by this stage, and I came home and crashed on the lounge after dinner. Woke around 9.45pm and then scrapped away til 1am!! Now that was a day!!

Today we took the kids to see Shrek. We had been using it as a bribery tool all week. LOL Zac was glued to the big screen, while Ella fell asleep on Jase's lap as the movie started. A quick 30min nap and she too, was glued to the screen. They both loved it!
Not sure if we'll rush out and see a big kids movie 4 days after it opens! The cinema was so full...not a spare seat in the place! We got there at 10am to see it, the line was so long it was way back into the food court. We wouldn't have got in to see that session, so decided to do some shopping and come back for the next one. Went to buy tickets to that, and there were 8 seats left...obviously not together. So we went to the next one, at 11.30am and bought tickets right then and there. (Nearly an hr before it started)Went and had a drink then filed in to the cinema, to it already filling up. Got good seats though. All a bit stressful to see a movie!! I think I'll wait til the movie's a few weeks old before we go, again!!

Island hopping

I thought I'd better get back to telling you about my holiday....it seems so long ago, now.

On the Wednesday we went Island hopping. We caught a ferry from Abel Point Marina, which is about a 7 min walk from our apartment. We decided to do a 2 island hop to Daydream Island and South Molle Island. Not such good weather..a bit overcast and a little breezy! First stop was Daydream Island, which is a 25 min boat ride away. We spent the morning here and had lunch in the beautiful restaurant. It's quite a big island, with great accomodation, restaurants, cafes, Mini golf, Water sports and a big outdoor living aquarium, which is very cool. There are a couple of restaurants built over it, with heaps of beautiful coloured fish, starfish and coral.
Jase and I played Around Australia Mini golf. That was lots of fun. We are both so competitive...(LOL)
From the other side of the island we walked back over to the main part for lunch and decided to do the rainforest Walk...good idea at the time, but showed how unfit I am...huffing and puffing! It was quite steep, and got the legs working.

Here's a few pics of Daydream.

Looking from the pool over to the mainland...

The mermaids...

Me with a beautiful backdrop...

Jase and I really liked Daydream. We could definately spend a week there with the kids.

Then the ferry picked us up at 1.15pm to take us over to South Molle. That only took 7 mins on the boat. They are very close. It was very quiet around South Molle. They had a blackout the night before and had lost power for about 12hrs. We had a game of table tennis in the bar area, which I whipped Jase's butt 3-0. That was a bit exciting...especially after he beat me at Mini golf - not by much though. Had a few cocktails, then a swim to cool off.

Here's a few pics of South Molle.

Jase enjoying a cold beer...

Looking out to the jetty from the bar...

All of the scenery really is from a postcard. It's just beautiful!

Then we headed back to Airlie Beach, for dinner, a few drinks and to watch the Mighty Maroons beat NSW in the State of Origin!!

Seth turns One

Our little nephew, and Zac and Ella's cousin, Seth turns one on Wednesday, but had his party on Saturday. Big milestone for this little cutie! It was an afternoon party, then a BBQ dinner. It was nice catching up with friends and seeing the kids play together. They are such a range of ages now. From about 10 yrs old down to babies.

Here are a few pics from the party.

The Birthday boy - Seth.

Seth and his Daddy - Jase's brother, Scotty, and my BIL

Zac eating cake.

Brittney and Hollee - These two cuties are sisters! Can't you tell??

Aunty Tracey and Mel - Jason's eldest sister and her daughter, our niece and the kids big cousin!

The party was lots of fun. The kids had a ball. Both went to sleep in the car on the way home.

Just had to share this pic with you. This was taken yesterday afternoon. Zac was running around the backyard with his Spiderman outfit and Jackson, from next door, came bolting over dressed up as Buzz Lightyear. Now, Jackson is 12, and the outfit was about 4 sizes too small. Very funny. His Mum, Sue said she is going to use it at his 21st! LOL :)

Thanks for all the Congratulations on my win at LSBS. I'll share my L/O's from the comp over the coming days, and do my tag! :)

Beautiful waterfalls and a never ending beach

On to Tuesdays events. We still had our little hire car, so we had a drive around to see some local sights. Firstly, we headed for Cedar Creek Falls, which is about 15km out of Airlie beach. Hidden away deep in the bush, we made it and these Falls are stunning. The water was very cold, so we didn't go for a swim. Jase and I were also a bit worried about not seeing the bottom, plenty of crocs up there. But everyone assured us there were no crocs in Cedar Creek falls because it was too high up river...we still weren't taking any chances.

Along the same road, about 15kms on is Conway Beach. I have never seen a beach quite like this one. It goes forever. We think it would have been about 1km out to the water. Tide was out of course, but only a light breeze was blowing - enough to fly a kite. It really was a never ending beach.

Then headed back to Airlie Beach and out to Shute Harbour. Not heaps at Shute Harbour, mainly the ferry terminal out to the islands. Georgeous clear water and plenty of boats!

Such a beautiful place...

Trip to Bowen

We drove up to Bowen on the monday. Seeing we were so close, we tried to get a glimpse of the movie set, "Australia". Well, I didn't see Nicole Kidman, but the lady standing next to me(with a giant lens on her camera) assured me that the man on the horse was Hugh Jackman...not that I could tell!

It was a bit exciting, while shooting this big siren goes off and they do the scene again. The set looked great, with the old pub and the cattleyards with old cars sitting here and there. It is supposed to resemble 1930's/1940's Darwin. As we left, down a side street we saw them driving the cows into town. So, I made Jase stop(to his disgust) and got a tail glimpse of the cows.

Here's a pic of the movie set,(the old pub.)

We also visited the beautiful Horseshoe Bay. This little beach is just georgeous. The scenery up on the Whitsundays is stunning. Every backdrop is amazing, pretty hard to take a bad photo up there. We had lunch in a little cafe right on the beach, at Horseshoe Bay. This beach recently won a Best Beaches award.

Here's a pic of Horseshoe Bay.

That's Jase walking on the beach with his shoes in his hand.

I didn't realise Bowen was such a scenic place...

Having trouble

Hi to those who visit my blog and I haven't updated it. I did promise to tell you about my holiday. I've had trouble uploading pics this week, but it all seems to be back to normal now.

So, I aim to get more pics up and tell you a little more bout what we got up to....

Stay tuned!
