Busy weekend...

My weekend started on friday night playing Friday Night games on Scrapbook City site for Reality Scrap...and guess what, Trish and I won!! That means we have immunity for the Vote this week. We have a free ticket into the next round. It was a word scramble to do with scrapbooking. It seems our Trish is quite the word master!! Yay Trish!!

Saturday started with a bang, with Zac having to be at a 4yr old Birthday party at 9AM!! It was for his little friend, Sophie, from Preschool's Birthday! The whole class was invited(30 kids) and 22 came to the party. It was at Scallywags, a climbing gym for kids. Zac loved it and had a great time...he didn't want to leave!! It was nice catching up with some of the parent's that we see, but don't get to chat to much, because everyone is in a hurry.
Home for lunch, then pack some clothes and off to a friend's little girl's Birthday Party. Lucie turned 3 last Friday, so it was heaps of fun. Lots of munchies for the kids, cake and of course lots of pressies for the Birthday girl. Some of the friends we got to catch up with we haven't seen for a while, so it was great!!
We stayed over at Grandma and Grandpa's last night, so had brekky with them and headed home for some movies and a louge afternoon. We have had a hectic 2 days! Thank God next weekend's not that bad!! The kids were very tired tonight and in bed nice and early...back to routine!!

Thought I'd share my card for Week 7 of Emily's challenge. This week was "shoes", so I did it about Ella's shoe collection!

Reality Scrap - Week 3

I've finished off my L/O for this week. It was a Back to Basics Challenge, using at least 3 sheets of Bazzill. One had to be a bling or scalloped edge Bazzill - I used both.
I used this cute pic of Ella, that I took at a park last month. She had heaps of fun that day.

Speaking of Ella, she's become quite the little parrot. She saying lots of work and has a special spot for "her daddy" of late. If you ask where Daddy is, it's he's at work. She told me it was raining this afternoon, when it was bright sunshine. She loves trying out new words.
We've also began that scary job of toilet-training. Daycare have suggested we start so, here we go again....the long slow process of wet knickers and puddles on my polished floors! Dare I mention the "other sort"!!
So, we went out and bought "Dora" knickers last week. They are a real hit - if you're wondering who Dora is, she's a little Spanish girl, who is quite the rage at the moment, well, for 18mth olds anyway!! - it's a TV show!
This morning we had some knicker time and she thought her knickers were for holding building blocks. She came out of her bedroom with 3 in her knickers. Zac was making her an aeroplane out of blocks, but she was more intrested with carrying them around...made me laugh! :-)

Will keep you posted on how we go...

Here's my L/O!

Emily Falconbridge Challenge

A few of the girls at Scrapbooking Memories Forum told me about the very talented Emily Falconbridge, and her Card Art Challenge, so being always up for a challenge, I've decided to take part, and loving it.
The idea is to create a little piece of Art on a selected theme each week on a playing card. Very cool, huh?

Here are the themes so far:
Week 1: Something/Someone you're proud of - my husband
Week 2:What's powerful to me? - my love for my family
Week 3: I am... - we had to complete the sentence
Week 4: your favourite symbol - a heart
Week 5: some emphera from your week(ticket, receipt, etc) - I saw Dream girls that week, so used that as mine
Week 6: Love - I did mine on things I love

This is what my cards look like to date...

Weeks 1-5

and this week's card, about LOVE!

and the back...

I've just realised in posting this, that I've put Seafood twice on my card...DOH! I'll have to think of something else, but I really do LOVE Seafood! LOL

You're lucky....2 posts in one day! :-)

It's Monday...

already, so that means Reality Scrap have delivered the verdict on Week 2 and announced Week 3's challenge. Guess what....I'm still alive!

My L/O wasn't up for public voting this week, only my partner, Trish's but she completed a georgeous L/O all about her little girls curls! YAY, Trish...and you doubted yourself?? It was beautiful.

Promise I'll post this week's L/O when it's complete.

We had the day over at Macleay Island yesterday. After raining on the way to the water taxi at Redland Bay, it ended up a beautiful day over there. The rain cleared and we went for a run on Pop's boat. Pop's boat is a Bay Cruiser which he has restored. It's lovely...you can even stay on it, has it's own galley(a little kitchen) and of course, a loo - an essential by my book! Zac and Ella loved the boat!
Check out this photo of Ella in her lifejacket! How cute...you nearly couldn't see her it was so big!!

Ella and Daddy on the boat

and Zac, ever the posing boy for the camera!

We had a nice day, out on the Bay!

Reality Scrap - Week 2

So, here is my L/O for this week. We had to use the Making Memories Patterned paper from the Cheeky range and the 8" chipboard brackets. This was a test for me, because I wasn't that fussed on this paper. But, having said that, I really like me L/O with this cute pic of Ella, from Christmas Day, last year.

Without further-a-do...here is this week's entry!

I received this L/O in the mail yesterday. It was a photo swap from Scrapbooking Memories forum. I got to swap with Jodie(Akuti). She did a great job with this cute pic of Ella and her Uncle Scotty.

I thought I'd share a few more L/O's I've done recently...

and a few swaps...
This is for frangipani's(Sarah) CJ - Things to do before I die...

and this one for Fess'(Louise) CJ - Quotes that move me...

I think I'm about up to date,

Pics from my cousin Nicole's Wedding

Finally....I've got some pics to share from my cousin, Nicole and her new husband, Steven's wedding. This was the first time I have met Steven, although I'd heard a lot about him from Nicole. He's lovely. So, now they are starting their married life in Cambray, South Australia. Not far from the Barossa Valley - liking that idea. I think it may be time for another visit down that way. Just LOVED the Barossa when we visited there in 2002!!
The wedding was in Portland, Victoria, where we all grew up. Lots of fun catching up with aunts, uncles, Grandparents and cousins. Most were meeting Ella for the first time, and most hadn't seen Zac since he was a baby. He was 10 mths old last time we visited.
It was SOOO COLD the day of the wedding, a lovely 16 degrees and the wind was freezing! Although, that didn't bother anyone, a good time was had by all!!

Samuel(Nicole's son)and niece, Brooke

The vows

The happy couple

The beautiful Bride

The Bridesmaids

We also had the chance to take a pic of all the cousins, on this side of the family. We are all spread far and wide, so don't get together very often. In order from left to right...Scott(23), me(32), Kylie(33), Nicole(31), Tim(29) and Kellie(my sister - 29).

I'll post some pics from our holiday soon...

Morning Tea at Murrarie

Jase, Zac and Ella and I headed over to Comlslie Beach Reserve at Murrarie this morning for morning tea with my scrap friend Amanda(Scrapmanda) and her girls, Danah and Tara. We had a fun morning...the kids played on the swings and Zac wore out the slide!
We had a nice morning tea beside the Brisbane river, along with the mozzies. They were some of the biggest mozzies I've ever seen, and you knew when they were sinking their teeth in.

Here are some pics:

Zac on the swings

Ella eating her morning tea

Amanda took this pic and emailed it to me - Why doesn't she smile like this for me??

Danah and Tara

We headed home, Ella was asleep about 5 mins after leaving the park. Had some lunch, and everyone had a "Nana nap" this afternoon. Now Jase is watching the cricket...a pretty good relaxing Sunday, I'd say!

Wow, what a night!

I had a fun night trying to be in 2 places at once. LSBS had their Cyber crop last night and I competed in Friday night games at Scrapbook City. I was drained mentally and physically after Friday night games for Reality Scrap!
We got chatting then got thrown into a challenge with our team mate. We had to come up with a name for our team and scrap about it, this becoming our "bandana".

Heaps of fun, and a little stressing to get it done on time. We had an 90 mins to decide our name and scrap the 6x6 L/O. I didn't get started scrapping til 40 mins in...Trish and I had too many decisions to make! LOL We ended up calling our team "Northside Scrap Queens".

Here's my L/O:

I came second and got an honorable mention. I was stoked!!

Yesterday, I did my entry in a Louise's CJ, on Scrapbooking Memories Forum. We had to scrap quotes that move us...well, I did poems. Hope she likes it! It's a little different for me. Trying to let their be space on a page, not the easiest thing for me, but love how these two turned out!! The first L/O and poem is about seeing in her daughter's eyes. Beautiful poem! And the second is about Life. Very inspiring.

Here's a pic:

The last L/o to share with you all is for the February Photo swap on Scrapbooking Memories Forum. This is for Jodie(Akuti) and the pic she sent me was of her as a baby and her Mum, way back in 1982. Great pic! I used BG Blush PP's! Just love them!

Hope to get a challenge or two done for LSBS CC today.

Reality Scrap - Week One

I have completed my L/o for my first week at reality Scrap. Have to see how I go..but am pretty happy with how this one turned out. This week, week we had to create a L/O about our passion using 3 Bugs in a Rug papers.

Of course my passion was my Scrapbooking!!

We have had a quiet week after the busy pace of the last few weeks. It's nice being away, but also nice getting back into routine.

Zac and Ella have had fun playing with the kids from next door after school this week. This afternoon they found a possum sleeping in a potplant in the garden. They were most excited about it, and the possum didn't seem to mind. He woke up, had some of the leaves in the potplant for dinner(not much left of the plant), then set off on his merry way. Not at all, worried about the kids at all. Very cool!

That's about it for now,

You have to check this out!!

My sister Kellie sent me this last night. They were chatting about it on Nova yesterday morning. It's priceless! It had me rolling on the floor laughing with tears rolling down my cheeks.

Being a hairdresser, I've worked with a few Bridezilla's in my time....but nothing like this one!

I'm home!

We flew back home into Brisbane on Wednesday night. Arrived home around 8pm. I couldn't believe how hot it was. After having cooler temps for the past week and a half...getting to sleep was a challenge, lucky I was tired!

We all had a great time away. The wedding was great, although a little cool. I had heaps of fun catching up with my cousins, aunts and uncles. My younger cousin, Tim is getting married next April, to his lovely fiance, Katherine so I'll get to see them all next year also. Poor Katherine has been waiting 9 years...there's no rushing our Tim!! :-)

I promise I'll post some pics of the wedding tomorrow.

Off to bed,

Chelle Xx
