I'm home

I'm home after my week away in the Whitsundays. How beautiful is it up there? Airlie beach is a bit of a hub. Lots going on, with heaps of places to eat and drink!! Also a stop for the overseas visitors - especially backpackers! They're everywhere!!

Jason and I had a great time away. It was nice to spend some time, just the two of us. Did some adult things - like a peaceful dinner, slept in and the highlight of our trip...We did our very first Scuba Dive. Now, that was fun! We both had no intention of doing it, but we did a trip to Knuckle reef, on the outer part of the Great Barrier Reef - about 100km out to sea. On the boat on the way out, they were telling us things we could do out on the big pontoon. So, we did it! The reef is spectacular, but what you can see under the water is totally amazing. I'll post some pics, soon.

This week, I'll chat about what we did each day...to break it up a little, or I could go on forever.

We stayed at some new apartments called Marina Shores. They were beautiful. They only opened in March. Our hosts, Lyn and Richard were fabulous, and recommended different things for us to do, which was much appreciated.

Here's a pic of the apartments.

and this is the view from our balcony. Pretty hard to take, hey?

I'll tell you more tomorrow. I'm off to scrap - it's been a while! :)

Ready to Go!

I'm all packed....FINALLY! I always get left to the last. I packed all the kids gear yesterday, so it was time to concerntrate on me.

We took the kids to Mum and Dad's tonight, so they are all settled. They are both very excited about having their holiday. Then on to Grandma's and Grandpa's on Sunday(so they can attend their cousin, Griffin's, Birthday party). Spend the week with grandma, then onto Aunty Tracey, Uncle Baz and cousin Mel's for the weekend. They have a busier week than us!! Heaps on, and they can't wait!
Just got to drop our cat, Reuben, at the kennels in the morning and then we're up up and away! Flying high to the Whitsundays!
Should be heaps of fun. Can't wait to spend some "us" time together, just Jase and me. Looking forward to it. Our first holiday, without the kids. It's going to be an experience.
I also promise to take heaps of pics...:)

See you next weekend!

More Layouts

Scrapbook City have a new Monthly competition running and this month we've used the new Crate Paper - Brunch Collection. Here are my Week 1 and week 2 Entries.

My putt Putt L/O is from our holiday in Victoria at the beginning of the year. This was a 18 hole Putt Putt course at The Tangled maze at Creswick, just outside Ballarat. This was Zac's first mini golf experience. Ella had fun chasing all the balls.

This is my latest Design Team L/O, with the new My Minds Eye Papers.

Nearly finished packing to go away...:)

Mothers Day

I had a nice Mothers day. I got my hair done on Saturday afternoon, and feel much better with it thinned out a bit, as well as no regrowth!!

Then, the alarm went off at 6am on Sunday morning to get up for the Mothers Day Classic at Southbank.

Zac came in after he heard the alarm, and said "Happy Mummy's day" and gave me a big kiss and cuddle...Ella didn't really know what it was all about, but gave me a kiss and cuddle anyway.

Back to the Classic, it's a 4km or 8km walk for Breast Cancer research. We've done it the last 2 years now. Lots of fun...except for the rain that came down just before the start. So, nice and wet, I walked for the next 45mins til we got to the end. Then went off and had a nice brekky - Yum!!

Then home before lunch, fed the troops, and thought I'd have a lie down on the bed, cause I felt exhausted. I woke up 3 hrs later...must have needed it. After waking, found out Jase had walked down our street to the Coffee shop on the corner and had Coffee and cake with the kids. Gotta love him! :)

Mum and Dad came over about 4pm, got organised and we all went out for Thai, for dinner.
The perfect end to the perfect day!

I had a great Mothers day!

It's official

It's booked and official! Jase and I are heading up to the Whitsundays for a week - with no kids. I must say a very big Thankyou to Nana, Pa, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunty Trace, Uncle Baz and Mel, for helping out with the babysitting. The kids are looking forward to their holiday, and so are Jase and I. It will be nice to spend some time together, just the two of us. It's been a while....:)

We fly out next Saturday(19th May). I can't wait. I've even bought a little underwater camera, to get some good underwater shots...well, I hope so! So, I'm charing the batteries and video camera, dusting off the togs and getting ready to have a relaxing holiday in paradise. Although, there is a catch...Jase said I'm not allowed to take any scrapping! WHAT?? I think I can survive the week. LOL

It was only mentioned a few weeks ago, in passing. Jase's boss, Allen,(who is just wonderful) suggested to Jase he needed a holiday. With end of financial year, etc, he probably wouldn't get a holiday til Christmas. He asked where we'd like to go, and we've done the going south thing...so decided to head north. I haven't seen past Rockhampton, and Jase has only visited Cairns(for work) a few years ago. So, Airlie Beach was suggested, and after I saw some pics on the net, I was SOLD!! If the water is half as clear as it looks in the pics, I'll be estatic!

I really can't wait!

Mini Book

I finished this Maya Road Board book last week. I don't know if you'd call it a mini book though, it's pretty big! LOL :)

We have a Friends Get together every year, just before Christmas. Last year, we went to Suttons Beach at Redcliffe. It's a great spot for kids, they all had a ball...and so did the adults!

Here are some pics...

The Weekend Wrap

PINK was awesome. Fantastic show, with sooo many dress changes! Love her, she's very cool! I met up with Amanda and Karen, and got to have a Slurpie with them...alcoholic of course! Heaps of fun. :)

We had a 1st Birthday Party this afternoon. Lee-Ann and Glenn's cute little Miss Hollee. She had fun, crawling around everywhere. Hollee really didn't know what all the fuss was about. I took a heap of photos for Lee-Ann, so didn't get any myself. That's ok, they will have plenty of nice pics to look at! :)

We have had a long weekend here in Brisbane this weekend - our Labour day. So, Haven't done heaps...just Pink and the party today. We got out a few movies. We watched RV with Robin Williams - very funny! Love the scene where he is trying to empty the waste out of the RV...You can just imagine can't you?? We also watched The Departed with a big line up of Big stars, like Leo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholsen and Matt Damon. Bit of an edge of your seat movie, with the Crime gangs involved...Very cool, but weird ending.

Welcome Little Jet

Just wanted to congratulate my Scrap Buddy Sara and her hubby Nathan, on the birth of their new baby boy, who arrived yesterday. I'm sure his name is Jet, as that's what Sara has been calling him through her pregnancy - not confirmed though. Hope everything went well, and will catch up with you soon.

Ninja's have taken over!!

So much for being good, and posting each day! Anyway, I'm not doing too bad.

Did you like my title? Got you wondering what it's all about? Zac went and saw the teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie with Aunty Kel, Dine and Mikey over the Easter school holidays. Thought it was great, loved it and he's been Ninja mad ever since. I went in to tuck him in the other night before I went off to bed(He usually kicks all his blankets off), and saw 3 Ninja's standing on the edge of his bed. Like any good scrapping Mum, I had to take a pic of it. LOL When I asked Zac next morning what the Ninja's were doing on his bed, he told me...Mum, they are watching over me, to keep the bad guys away.
Of course they are, I said!!
So, it's official, Ninja's are protecting us in our house!! LOL

Ella illness didn't last long, and she only managed to share with Jase and I, Zac escaped it! Both were feeling better after 24 hrs. Thankyou for all your well wishes, I think they helped :)

Thought I'd share another L/O...

This one is from our holiday in Victoria in January. It's of Lake Wendouree in Ballarat...with NO water! I remember this visiting this Lake as a kid and it was full with lots of rowers on it. Doesn't look like that now!

I'm slowly getting our holiday scrapped :)

Quick L/O Share

I forgot to post yesterday.....Oops!! I'm trying to be good and blog regularly.
So, I thought I'd share 2 layouts with you to make up for it!!

This L/O is of Ella, at Bribie Island recently. She loves the beach!!

I did this L/O at our Weekend away, just over a week ago now. Ella climbed up on her table in her room and got the nappy cream down. Thinking it was sunscreen, she put it all over her face and when it didn't rub in, got upset. Very cute!!

Little Miss Mischief also got picked for Layout of the Week over at 2 Croppin Cousins. That made my day!! :)

Ella is a little off colour at the moment, she'd had Diahorrea!! Yuck!! She has also been very kind and begun passing it on to the rest of us. It'll be a quiet day at home today, I think!!
