The Cup is heading WEST!!

We had a full on day today. After Zac's last tennis lesson for the term we headed home to get started on some painting. It has been annoying Jason and I for a while now. So, today was the day. Jason sanded it all back while I filled holes and began painting on the lower area. It's a bit high in some places, but it's looking good.
Tomorrow will be the second coat and get the yard cleaned up. After the recent rain, it's actually started to grow.

Called the painting quits about 2pm to head upstairs to watch the AFL Grand Final. Being an ex-Victorian, I love the AFL. I'm a Lions supporter through and through but was going for the Swans today. They lost! I'm actually glad West Coast hung on and won, they deserved it, being the better team from the kick off.
Well done West Coast!

Off to do some scrapping!!

Have a great weekend,

He's glad to be home. Weather is much better. He said it was sooooo cold down there. Suprising, don't you think....for Melbourne! LOL
Zac was so excited to see Daddy, as was Ella. Big smiles and Da da's all round!

September Holiday Fun...

Today we met up at Southbank with Aunty Tracey and Mel, Aunty Dine, Aunty Kel and Mikey. It was a beautiful day. Zac took his bike and Mikey his scooter. Mel forgot hers, but remembered her togs. The kids had a good play on the playground, and we walked up the big riverwalk. We finally got a good pic of them all at the playground. It took a few go's....red faces and all!

We had a nice lunch then brought the kiddlets home for a sleep. A great day....:-)

Another weekend is over!

It amazes me how fast the weekend goes. Jason has been away since last Monday, setting up a factory in Melbourne. We are looking forward to him coming home on Tuesday afternoon.
Zac had tennis on saturday morning. Lots of fun! Then we came home and painted a rendered retaining wall. Zac had fun, helping me. He kept telling me what I needed to paint...:-)
Lots of visitors this weekend. Everyone must know Jase is away. Trying to keep us company. I'm use to him going away now. The kids and I manage ok. There is always some scrap time at night, to keep me occupied.

I got 2 Challenges done in the Scrapbook City Cyber Crop this weekend. Being a good scrap Mum, I did one on each child. No favouritism here! :-)

Another Online Class

Well, I've done two Karen Ridgeway classes in the past two weeks. Thought I'd share my L/O's with you. These pics are from the "Focus on photos 1 - Doodling" class.

The "Lovin' you is easy" is of Ella and I a few weeks ago, and the "Our Crazy Boy" L/O was of Zac taken earlier in the year. He had an obsession with Harry Potter at the time and kept putting Daddy's glasses on to look like him. Very cute!

Will share some more tomorrow.

What a sad day

What an emotional day! I don't think I've ever been this emotional at the passing of a public person, like I have over Steve Irwin.

Today's Memorial was a fabulous tribute to an amazing and inspiring man! He has done so much for Australia, wildlife and conservation across the world. I am proud to say that he lived in my lifetime.

What a little trooper his daughter, Bindi, is. She spoke so well and she's only 8! Imagine what she's going to achieve in her life! I spent the hour during the service this morning a blubbering mess. My 3yr old Zac asked me "Mummy, crying for the Croc man?". Apart from the tears, I thought it was such a fitting tribute, totally Aussie in every way. Then it ended with Russell Crowe, he made me cry even more when he said "My hand, My heart, My friend" then broke down in tears. For such a tough guy, he melted my heart, and I'm not a big Russell fan at all.

I'm so glad Steve Irwin has touched so many lives, here and across the world. My heart is aching for Terri, Bindi and Bob and family. He will never be replaced, his legacy will definately live on.

Goodbye Steve!

P.s - I did this L/O for a Challenge with my Yahoo group - A tribute to someone.

YAY!! Pic posted!

Finally got a pic posted on my blog! YAY!!

I've been a....

very bad Blogger this week. Where has the week gone? Are there still 7 days in a week, or has someone taken a day or two out? Just joking!

We've had a huge weekend. It began Friday night, when I did a friend's hair and had a good catchup. Saturday Zac had Tennis at 8.30am, then off to my nephew, Michael's, school fete, at Jindalee State School. Zac and Ella had a great time. We had been there about 5 mins when Zac informed us he wanted to ride the camel. Yes, they had Camel rides! My 3 yr old son has no fear, we've discovered. Hopped straight up on the camel while it was sitting down. We thought he'd freak when it stood up, but No!, he loved it! Got some great pics of him riding the camel, with his Aunty Nadine!

After the Fete we headed back to my sisters for a BBQ. My Aunty Margaret and Uncle Peter are here on holidays at the moment from Portland, Vic. They will be here a week, leaving on Friday to keep heading south towards home. Had a great night telling stories around the table, while enjoying a few glasses of wine and to top it off the boys opened the Port...few sore heads this morning.

Today we had Ella's Birthday party at Rocks Riverside Park. A quiet little affair with family and a few friends. Ella had a good time, and loved her cake. She had a Princess cake....I think she's going to be a sweet tooth!

For anyone trying to leave a comment on my blog, you may need to use the anonymous tab when posting. I've upgraded to betablogger and have been having a few problems. Have had a few problems uploading pics as well. Hope to get it fixed soon! bare with me! :-)

Walk for a Cure

This weekend I did the "Relay for Life - Walk for a cure". An event the Cancer council puts on as a fundraiser to find a cure for cancer. A huge $137,000 was raised so far from this event, with more to trickle in over coming weks.

What is it, I hear you ask? It is a team event. Each team can have up to 15 members and the team have to walk continuously for 18(yes - 18)hours. We set off at 3pm yesterday(Sat 9th Sept) with the final steps being taken at 9am this morning. There was live bands, giveaways, movies in the early morning hrs and cheerleading and Tae kwon do displays to keep us entertained while doing our "stints".

A very long night, with altogether I did 8 x 30min stints on the track. With each stint doing approx. 5 laps of a 400m running track. So, in 18hrs I walked approx. 16KM! And am I feeling it tonight!

Our team's theme was "Racing for a cure" with little cardboard cars being our "baton" we paseed from team member to team member. Had a fabulous time, and as tired as we all were this morning, we did actually talk about next year!

I'd like to Thank Jodie Sandford - a young Cancer survivor herself - for organising our team and making this event such great fun! I'll be back next year - with some pre-season training beforehand I think!

Off to get some shut-eye!
Night all,
Chelle Xx

P.s - For some reason Blogger won't let me post pics tonight, so will post some tomorrow! :-)

Ella turns One!

Today our beautiful little girl turned One!!

It's been a rough couple of days. She has had gastroenteritis. Started Sunday night, a trip to emergency Monday night. Tuesday she began drinking and ate dinner. Looked promising and she was all smiles today for her Birthday.

I thought I'd share this pic of her and I just before her bath tonight, dinner on her face and all! I still can't believe she's one already. Where did a year go?

Riverfire...

Jase and I took Zac and Ella to their very first Riverfire on Saturday night! Can I just say...they loved it!

They were both mesmerised by the fireworks and the F1-11 was fantastic. The Roulettes at 5pm were great. Got a good pic of them flying over the city. It was a great night had by all. The crowds at Southbank, although big, was pretty easy to get around. I think next year we might try Kangaroo Point cliffs to get a different view.

Zac is already talking about next year....:-)
