Productive day today!

Well, it began early, 8.30am to be exact. Zac started in a fun activities class today, called "Happy Coconuts". The focus is learning sports and getting excercise for 3-6yr olds. He was a little bit shy at first, but didn't take long for him to settle in. They do three sports in a term(12 wks), so they spend 4 weeks learning a sport. Each week they learn a new skill. They are doing Soccer at the moment, and "heading" was today's skill. Very funny to watch. At 3, there isn't much coordination, but they all had a go, and that's the main thing!

So, after Zac's class we decided to have Breaky at the Cafe down the Rd from us. Very yummy, and a great way to start the day...as I didn't have to make it!

Then home, and spent the day in the yard...overhauling our front garden. Needed it, was getting a bit overgrown and had some very sad plants that needed putting out of their misery. So, had a huge cleanout, mowed and snipped. Doesn't it look great too, if I do say so myself!

Off to the markets early tomorrow morning with my Sis, Kel, to find some drought-resistant plants! That will fill my garden bed that looks a little barren tonight!

After my plant expedition in the morning....scrapping is the name of the game!

Wish me luck,

Sad News....

I had some sad news yesterday. One of my clients(I'm a Hairdresser - although not hairdressing at the moment) passed away on Monday night. She would have been lucky to be 50!

I had been doing her hair since I started with Luppinos in 2000. She was one of these clients that if she saw regrowth...she had to get rid of it. So, I saw her every month at the least. She has 3 girls(youngest being 21) and they all came to the salon too. So, over the past 6 years I have got to know this family quite well.

She went to the Dr about 6 weeks ago, with a sore eye. Dr sent her for scans and found out she had cancer. Bone cancer it turned out to be. She was told she had about 12 months to live...and barely made 6 weeks.

So, I'm off to her funeral with one of the girls I used to work with. It will be a very sad event on friday. :-(

What a weekend

Well, we've had one of those weekends. When you're glad Friday afternoon has come around, then all of a sudden it's Sunday night! How did this happen?

It started with dinner on Friday night with my family. A bit of a rest on Saturday morning(catch up on the washing, etc..).

Jason, Zac and I went with some friends to the Brisbane Lions game vs Hawthorn at the Gabba. It was Zac's first footy game and he loved it. All he wanted to do was to run on the field and kick the footy. Probably shouldn't have told him that until the game was finished.
After a less than ideal start(and some very boisterous Hawthorn fans), the Lions slowly closed the gap in the score line. We sat just off to the side behind the northern goalposts. So, when Brisbane were on a goal kicking frenzy in the third quarter...all the action was right in front of us. It was excellent!
We had a great night and even got to sing the the song at the end, with the Lions winning by 10 points.
Jase took Zac down on to the field after the game, to kick the footy. He loved it!On the way home he said, "Can we go to the footy again, Dad?". To the reply "Sure can bud!"
So, I think it's going to be a ritual now. Couple of times a year, they tell me.

I love the AFL, being an ex-Victorian....I love those Lions!

On to Sunday....we had some friends of ours, Glenn and Lee-Ann, christening their little girl, Hollee, today. They live in Ipswich, but the Christening was in Rosewood. About 20 mins west of Ipswich. A lovely day for a grand occasion. All went well...and yes, she cried when they tipped water on her head. Although, I can't blame her...it was cold this morning.

That's all from me today,

Take care,

Sick husband!

I've had my husband, Jason, home sick for the past two days. Yesterday he didn't even get out of bed, sleeping all day. At least today, he's been able to get some work done. He's lucky enough to dial in to work, and always comments he gets so much more done here at home without the phone ringing all the time.

Apart from that, I got a L/O finished off this afternoon. I started it at the Scrapbook City crop a few weeks ago, and it's been on the "to finish" pile. I thought I'd finish off a few before starting any new ones. Well, it good in theory, right?
My L/O is of the Butterfly House in Coffs Harbour(and yes I know I spelt Harbour wrong - DOH!). IT was while we were there on holiday in May.

Take care,
Chelle Xx

My Star Book

I finished my Star Book through the week, that I started last weekend. I spent a few late nights on it, but I'm really happy with the result.

I based it on my husband, Jason and I. I always seem to scrap the kids, so this made a nice change. After digging through old photos, Jason and I had a good giggle at how we have changed in 13 years. His main comment was "I had hair back then...", he doesn't have all that much now!

Let me know what you think....:-)

My younger sister Kellie, and her family have just left and she absolutely walloped us playing Buzz on Playstation 2! It's a trivia game, and believe me if I had a cattle station she would have taken it. (I think she's been playing on her day off for practice.) We had a fun night though, even if I did lose...

My daughter Ella, has been sick through the week, and getting more teeth. So, it's been a grumpy day today. Let's hope tomorrow brings more smiles!

Apart from that, finished off a few swaps and had a quiet day at home. It's nice being home when it's raining! And we sure need it!

Take care,

Scrapapple Noodle Box

I put an entry in for the Scrapapple Design Team a few months ago. I didn't make the DT, but was asked to be a Guest designer for the month of July. I had to complete a decorated Noodle Box with a coordinating Invitation in a "Party" theme.

I think it turned out quite well, and Kelly and Dawn were very happy with it.

Check it out at:

This is Me L/O

I'm home today, as my little daughter, Ella, is sick. She has a terrible nose and cough. So, I'm getting into my blog early, before she wakes from her afternoon sleep.

My "This is Me" L/O is the July Monthly Pack at Scrapbook City. I was wondering what i was going to do with it. I took the photo myself(my first self-portrait), which was quite good. I increased it in size and made it about me. I don't tend to do much on me.

The journalling on the side,(above the "m") reads:

I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandaughter, daughter-in-law, cousin, sister-in-law, aunty and friend.....XX......

I think I'll enter it at Scrapbook City, because I really like it. One of my better ones!!

A cloudy day L/O

After my very anticipated photo corners drying, my L/O is now complete. Tracey(tiddlypeep) gave me the idea last friday at The Scrapbook Cupboard Crop day. I cut them from chipboard, painted them white then used my NEW Heidi Swapp Stamps and a little blue paint with Dimensional magic to finish them off. I think they come up quite well.
I haven't pulled out the Dimensional magic in ages, think I'm going to get addicted to it again. Especially with my chipboard!!

Weekend Away!!

My weekend away with my hubby was great. With two little children, we don't get much time together - just the two of us. It was very nice. We stayed at the Outrigger "Sun City" in Surfers Paradise. Great place to stay with plenty to do within walking distance. All in all, a great weekend for some "together" time. Took plenty of pics - even a pic(inspired by Manda's Mojito L/O). See, I'm always thinking Scrapbooking!!

Been finishing off one of my L/O's from friday's crop at The Scrapbook Cupboard tonight. Just waiting for the Dimension magic to dry. Tracey(tiddlypeeps) gave me a great idea for making chipboard photo corners. They look great, if I do say so myself!!
Will post once I'm finished!

Crop Day at the Scrapbook Cupboard!!

Today I spent the day with some of the girls from the Scrapbooking Memories Forum. Simone and her family(Luke, Xanthe and Jacob)were on holiday up here in sunny Queensland, so it was the perfect opportunity to get together in real life.
It was nice catching up with Zane and Amanda and meeting Lisa, Tracey, Bronwyn, Monica and Simone for the first time.
We had a lovely day of chitter chatter, yummy morning tea, oohh....and some of us got a little scrappin' done.

My wonderful husband, Jason is whisking me away for the weekend to the Gold Coast, minus our children. I'm looking forward to spending some time together...just the two of us. It doesn't happen very often, so I'm going to enjoy it.

I'm already planning a way to document our weekend away....mini book, flip album, tag book....the options are endless!

Take Care,
Chat to you on Sunday!

School Holiday Sleepover!

Today we've had my niece, Melanie over to play, while she's on School Holidays. Zac and Ella have loved having their big cousin over. We've painted, been in the sandpit, the backyard as well as kicking balls and playing with toys!

All are fed, bathed and ready for bed.....although just one thing, we have to cheer on Queensland in the Origin first!

Go the Queenslanders! Bring it home for us!!

Hugs,

Tuesday, 4 July 2006

Well, I finished off my Layout tonight that I was working on at the Scrapbook City Crop night. It's of my son, Zac. It was his first trip to Dreamworld and he loved it.

I think it turned out pretty good. I don't tend to use those colours. I'm a bit of a bright girl...but makes a nice change.

I pinched my Mum's sewing machine last weekend.I can see lots of stitched L/O's coming on....:-)I'll make sure I share when I'm under way!!

Hugs,
Chelle

Well, my online Scrap Buddies have talked me into it, I'm now a Blogger!

This is my first post and now that I've entered cyberworld, there's no going back...:-)

Well, after a huge day yesterday for my son, Zac's 3rd Birthday party, today has been a quiet one, with the usual household chores after the mayhem from a huge weekend!

Zac's birthday was last Friday, 30th June. We had a Superhero Party yesterday at Rocks Riverside Park at Seventeen Mile Rocks. The weather was beautiful, and all the kids(and adults) had a great time. We had a BBq lunch and Zac couldn't wait for the cake....ohh and of course candles! He received plenty of presents, including a new Superman which he won't put down!!

Ella, my daughter went as a fairy, and of course had fun taking some shots of her before we come home.
